Using the Peter Jackson collection, including the FE2 that he built from scratch, but having found a second engine decided to build two of them!

Have been waiting for him to do a decent WWI film, as he already has the props (pun intended)

Is there any way to watch this program on line in Canada?

Ceterman27 Mar 2012 10:30 a.m. PST

…or in the US?

From the Channel 5 website, regarding their "OnDemand" online service:

Can I watch video if I am outside the UK?

No, Channel 5 is only licensed to make content available to the UK. If our video player doesn't recognise your IP address as one from within the UK then you won't be able to watch our programmes and video clips online.

So it doesn't look like you can, legally at any rate!

Just watched it and some excellent vintage footage.

Lovely planes, though they seemed to give all credit to the FE2b for ending the Fokker scrourge, simply presumably because they happened to have one there to film, rather than the DH2 fighter which I always thought was the real cause of the Allies regaining air superiority.

A bit lightweight, but then thats modern documentaries these days. Excellent flying sequences though. My kids will love it :)

Interesting little programme, superb looking planes and wonderful flying sequences.
First WW1 air documentary I have ever seen that did not mention Richthofen or the Fokker DR1

Worth a little watch, but missed out HUGE chunks of the development of aircraft and tactics in that war.

Apparently (as per the film – and apart from some unarmed planes) the germans used the Fokker eindecker, the Albotross, and belatedly the Fokker D7, we used the FE2b, the SE5a and the camel.

Ah well….
