Just a little bit of an update on the Chuhuac project from Loud Ninja Games. My sculptor has informed me that he is now ready to begin working full tilt on the Chuhuac. I expect to have a green or two to show you in the upcoming month (April), so stay tuned. In the meantime, I have posted a couple of blurbs on the Loud Ninja Blog sharing some of the background thoughts and design angles, as well as early design sketches. link link Thanks for your interest! -Eli |

Those squad support weapons look like theyre gonna be a pain to tell apart at table distance. |

These look better and better each time you post an update. Jeff |

Agree with El Wombato. The guns need some re-shaping. Ever consider having the SAW be a bullpup that braces against the "hip"? With the large muscle at the base of the rear leg, and the fact that the leg is even with the arm, it would be perfect for this creature's layout. Raptors had uncanny balance-- they could keep their heads rock-steady even at a full run. A back mounted weapon that tracks with the head (like the cannon on the Apache gunship) might be another way to take advantage of the raptor's unique geometry. Overall they look fantastic. I love the feathers, the armor, the overall look. You clearly thought long and hard about these guys. |

Oh, if only they were 28mm
(Hm – how big *are* they going to be?) EDIT: Just saw the scaling of the armature. Too small for me, but they're still wonderful! |

El Wombato and Wellspring – Thanks for the input but the weapons are pretty much set. I intentionally avoided back-mounted weapons because they ended up looking way too "Saturday morning cartoon" for me. I felt the weapons are as different enough from one another as any two modern day weapons. As I envisioned these aliens as fast-movers and very agile, I intentionally avoided weapons that looks like they needed to be braced or set to be used. -Eli |

Hmm. I concur with the idea of bigger backed by hip gun, kinda like MG of Aliens Colonial Marines. Maybe Eli You could make them modular, similarily to Khurasan Garn? Three bodies with different legs, |

I really appreicate the feedback guys! As for "modular" miniatures, I have seen a ton of feedback against them in 15mm and not a whole lot for them. I had originally considered them for the Chuhuac, but once against, most feedback I see tells me to stay away from such figures unless the minis have enough bulk to make it non-fiddly. I really feel that once the miniatures are painted and on the table there will be far less difficulty in telling the special weapons apart. If this proves to be a problem, I will certainly keep it in mind when considering future designs. -Eli |

You know, there is nothing stopping you from marking the bases etc to indicate heavy weapons like TW and FoF use so that the size of the weapon is not as important at a galnce. The weapons can also be painted a different color. You still might have to squint a little to see what type of heavy, but that is not new either. Just a though. Jeff |

Eli/Jeff Oh, definitely, painting can be used to clear up any ambiguity. Just giving input. |

And I appreciate it. I'll always listen to input. -Eli |

Hey everone, As some recent inquiries about the Chuhuac came up, I thought I might post something in the way of an update. I very much appreciate the interest in these minis and I apologize for the delays in their release. I had hoped to have had them out by now, but my sculptor had to relocate mid-project and is still playing catch up. They are being worked on, surely, if not a bit slowly. It's a lot of poses, 12 to be exact, and I want each of them to be done right. So, if you can stay with me through to the end here, I'll get them released ASAP. If that release goes well, then we may very well see more Chuhuac or other cosmic denizens from LNG Thank you, -Eli |
