Still in the making. Dimensions are 36" by 24." Not sure what I want to do with it. What do you see?

I think much depends on what figures you own. The obvious thing to see is a lost ancient city. Now where the city is, offers endless possibilites: Earth Jungle, Venusian Jungle, Center of the Earth, Martian plain, Egyptian hills, American west, English coast

The rhythmic chanting of the natives began to reach it's crescendo as the two men hid in the shadows watching in growing horror. Their eyes easily caught the fluttering of the tattered remains of Lola's ripped evening gown it's sequins reflecting the torch light all around her bound body. As the two men moved closer they could see Lola still struggling to break free from the ropes that bound her wrists. "At least she is still alive" whispered the shadowy figure to the other. The drum beating suddenly changed tone and Lola began to scream. That is when they men saw it for the first time

I think which scale, depends on what figures you own. The obvious thing to see is a lost ancient city. Now where the city is, offers endless possibilites: under the sea, undiscovered volcanic hot spot in the middle of Antartica, valley in the Himalayas, Atlantis, middle of the Sahara, home of the fountain of youth in Florida

Those are ruins past the vast jungle which lies near Ape City. It isn't the Forbidden Zone. But it hasn't been explored by the Gorilla Army yet. |

28mm sci-fi board for me. |
Watchtower78 | 25 Mar 2012 4:04 p.m. PST |
It's a free-for all science fiction action packed adventure featuring Indiana Jones and Flash Gordon who are trying desperately to persuade the lizardmen of Laxul deep in the South American Jungles that they need to stop eating tourists. Meanwhile, the evil tourist leader is secretly in league with the escaped outlaws from the Oregon Territory and is working with them to expand caiman season to the rare lizardmen tribes. Eventually the rocket corps will be called in to sort it out and Indy must find the lizardmen's idol of Slahval which the greedy tourist leader hid away an ancient Aztec temple rumored to be filled with jaguar spirits! |

I saw this last year at Enfilade, sort-of-a multiple player 'DBA treasure hunt.' You contact a structure, fight what's in it, and then recieve a treasure, etc

"It's a free-for all science fiction action packed adventure featuring Indiana Jones and Flash Gordon" Now that sounds like very cool idea. Flash grabs Indy and off to Arboria. Or better yet. Indy discovers John Carters secret and winds up on Mars with him.. 8) |
CAPTAIN BEEFHEART | 25 Mar 2012 5:05 p.m. PST |
First off, it's a beautiful table. The first thing I could think of was 6mm Space Marine stuff.
.Else, Pulp. |
Lion in the Stars | 25 Mar 2012 6:42 p.m. PST |
Unfortunately, what I first thought was "wide-open kill zone." I might be spending too much time thinking about Infinity terrain. My second thought was "General Pettygree's lost city of Alexandrapour?" |

Nice use of a 24x36 corkboard, if I am not mistaken? |
J Womack 94 | 25 Mar 2012 6:52 p.m. PST |
You could use it for OGRE Miniatures. |

I'm going to make a portable table like that. I'm playing Blasters & Bulkheads in 15mm and the rulebook says you can go 2'x2' without any problems for small games. |

Grey Ronin | 25 Mar 2012 10:47 p.m. PST |
Song of Blades and Heroes for Conan would be great size and with different terrain bits it is ideal for GB's SAGA. To keep it portable don't make any terrain fixed. |

ordinarybass | 26 Mar 2012 6:18 a.m. PST |
I'd definitely use it for Song of Blades and Heroes or In The Emperor's name. It looks good, but those are the only two games I play that could be effectively on a table that small. |

Looks like a the backside of a bulletin board. I use the same thing for my gaming table. It's a nice size since it can be easily moved while a game is going on. |

"She who must be obeyed"? Or Barsoom -if 28mm, great Red Martian amazons there: TMP link |
BlackWidowPilot | 31 Mar 2012 1:38 p.m. PST |
Brilliant. 28mm sci-fi/pulp or fantasy skirmish, definitely. RPGs definitely. Historical skirmish such as 'Nam or any other period set in the SE Asian jungles like the 19th century Sino-French War definitely. 15mm too, as the ruins look sufficiently generic enough to pass muster. Another possibility is for you to take a venture into terrain less traveled, and use it for MesoAmerican skirmish warfare, such as rival Mayan city-states or Mexica (Aztec) vs. Tlacaltecs, etc. Excellent use of that framed corkboard, mikeygees! I let them sort out who gets the title, and keep my head down until they do, Leland. But that table is definitely on the outskirts of Alexandrapour. (I may need to make a version of that, myself, since I'm building a similar force to the General's, only in 15mm) |
SheriffLee | 01 Apr 2012 7:23 p.m. PST |
I have used the same idea from LOTR amd from Mars to Beuttleguese and different rules. Tanks for sharing. Now tanks from Stalingrad to Berlin now that is a fun idea. |
Thunderman | 10 May 2012 11:57 a.m. PST |
I see conquistadors fighting through a sweltering jungle to the entrance of an ancient Aztec temple. That or Victorian era British hunting dinosaurs. Nice table either way, although it's too bad you couldn't make all the non-flat terrain movable. |
