Today is the 70th anniversary of the release of Casablanca…

Theaters across the country are showing it for ONE NIGHT only, (tonight)…
That's right…you'll get to see it once again, (and perhaps for the last time), on the big screen where it belongs…

"Here's looking at you…kid…"

Outstanding. "Round up the usual suspects."

Like I said in the other post you made about this it's one of my favorites. The supporting cast is what helps make it so outstanding.

Thanks,

John

If that plane leaves the ground and you're not with him, you'll regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon. And for the rest of your life.

Caesar21 Mar 2012 1:42 p.m. PST

Oh, wow!

Whitewolf3621 Mar 2012 1:43 p.m. PST

One of the few perfect movies ever made.

BrianW21 Mar 2012 1:46 p.m. PST

Yes, and we are going to see it tonight!

I'll watch my Blu Ray then

My son just came home from it. He felt is was over-hyped (his words) and feels The Third Man is better. He's 21 and a budding classic film buff.

"My son just came home from it. He felt is was over-hyped….He's 21…."

But then he's too young to have loved and lost.

The Third Man is also a good movie. But not quite as good.

Casablanca is a superb movie….

What was that line Bogart had about the Germans coming to Paris….something like, "Yes, I remember it well. You wore blue. The Germans wore grey."

justBill21 Mar 2012 7:25 p.m. PST

Claude Rains is excellent in this film. I watch it nearly every time its on.

charles popp21 Mar 2012 7:44 p.m. PST

One movie so perfect that if anyone in Hollywood tries to remake that person should be stoned to death.

Caesar22 Mar 2012 6:20 a.m. PST

Went crazy trying to find a theater that wasn't sold out. I failed.

Lee Brilleaux Fezian22 Mar 2012 6:28 a.m. PST

It may well be the best movie ever.

Oddball22 Mar 2012 6:37 a.m. PST

Greatest movie ever made, perfect cast, acting, writing. Saw "Casablanca" on the big screen yesterday. Wonderful.

Old Slow Trot22 Mar 2012 7:08 a.m. PST

Mad Magazine even got around to a parody of it,titled "Casabonkers". Mort Drucker did the art work, and I forget who did the writing, but it was funny. "Of all the gin joints….she walks into mine." "It's the free peanuts, boss. Brings 'em in every time." as an example of the parody lines.

Old Slow Trot22 Mar 2012 7:11 a.m. PST

"Welcome back to the fight. This time,I know our side will win."

dBerczerk22 Mar 2012 7:36 a.m. PST

Hollywood did make a remake. It was titled "Barbed Wire," set in a post apocalytic America rather than Morocco.

The busty gal from "Baywatch" played the Bogart role.

Interesting casting and concept -- an homage no doubt to the original.

flooglestreet26 Mar 2012 6:21 p.m. PST

All I know about political science is in the first few minutes of that movie.
