The Cold War Gone Hot supplement for Force on Force provides three types of scenarios: 1. Cold War Fears – how can US/NATO survive the perceived advantages of the Warsaw Pact? 2. Cold War Realities – Scenarios based on declassified documents after the fall of the Soviet Union, with NATO more aggressive and the Warsaw Pact less intimidating. 3. Cold War Fantasies – Scenarios based on fiction and film. Which set interests you the most? |

Mix of 1 and 3, depending on how nostalgic I feel. Finding out the Soviets weren't as impressive as my childhood memories (and wargames) insist they were make 2 a bit of a letdown to me. |

All. I always liked a mixed NATO force vs a Soviet Desant force. Usually a bridge or a airfield, With Soviet breakthru units racing to link up. Then the Aliens show up

The problem with the Cold War Going Hot it would probably excallate into an all out nuclear exchange once one side started losing significant military forces. At least that was the perceived mutual reality during the Cold War. I've played some NATO vs. Warsaw Pact Games with mixed results. I would have liked to done Scenario No. 2: Warsaw Pact Realities. But the end result of a campaign would be the Russians relying on chemical or biological agents to stave off military disaster in the field in the vary least (if not going to nuclear assets). |

I like all three types. I've mostly run the "Hollywood" versions of group three. |

"I want Cubans occupying a small town in Colorado, people". I'll see that, and raise you a full on invasion, supported by the President this time, of Cuba. The Americans are looking forward to spending some nice R&R time with the grateful locals, while relaxing on the white sands of the nearest Caribbean beach, and smoking a few of Fidel's cigars. |

For modern stuff, we tend towards #3, but believable #3. We also do a lot of red on red stuff, like eastern block v eastern block. |
