I'd like to get some sheep, maybe a cow or two, as a terrain feature. I found this site that sells farm toys in 1/64 plastic. The price seems good. Has anyone used them or seen this type of product? Most toy animals I've seen seem too big for 28mm waregames.

Good reference. The sheep at 3/4" tall seem about right

Not going to reply to any posts about sheep! Just asking for trouble!

Don't listen to the sheep, they just lie anyway. ;-)

Shouldn't this have been cross-posted to the Australian and New Zealand boards?

I've got 100 28mm Irregular sheep painted in an off-white shade as an objective for Aboriginal raids and colonial recovery attempts (the Australian frontier was and is a dusty environment)… and before any razor-edged wit leaps at the obvious, Australian sheep are not renowned for their drill and formation keeping.

Haven't seen these "in person", but there are these:

They also sell them individually, if you just want one or two.

You might also want to look at Foundry. I know they make tons of different animals and probably have what you need.

Welsh boards more like – what rules require camp followers then?

A lot of Wild West gamers consider parts of the ERTL line as most desirable especially in the 1/64 scale to go with 25mm or 28mm. They have a good selection, the stuff is already painted, and all the variety you could ever want. They hold up on the wargame table and drop into a plastic bag ready for the next battle. I use them all the time.

Ray

Irregular sheep? I thought sheep had a good fibre intake?

So I bought the Ertl sheep and pigs. I found a site that was selling them a bit cheaper and far more so than the wargame companies: 25 sheep for $9 USD and 25 pigs for $5. USD The size is right for 28mm. I based the sheep in groups of about 5 or 6 so figs can move through them or they can just be in the background. I'll prob. only use one or two pigs. For my money it was totaly the way to go.

NY Irish, Is that the one you linked to earlier? There is a TON of other very useful things on that page, I bookmarked it.

It wasn't. That page, which I agree had cool stuff, didn't use Paypal so in looking for something that did I got a slightly cheaper rate. I used T.G.F. Toys.
