I met with an old friend today and he surprised me with about 25-30 bages of HERITAGE REVISITED LOTR Figures. Each bag has a small cardboard insert that says ORIGINAL MOLD Castings…. LOTR and a set number.

The figure are true 25 mm and by today's standard are very crude.
Anyone have any info on these?

If anyone's interested in them shoot me a PM.

I'm interested, I just don't know where to get them. I love the orcs!

At the time (late 70s?) they were my favourite orcs as well. Sounds like you've got production masters – the castings used to make production moulds. Should be in tin and very crisp.

Heritage produced several lines of figs during its' existence. link

They produced 2 25mm LoTR lines. The first was designed by Duke Seifried. The legend has it that he went to the UK and consulted with JRRT about how they were supposed to look. These had catalog codes in the 1000s.
link

The second line, the "Elan Merchs," were product tie-ins to the rotoscoped LoTR movies by Ralph Bakshi. These had catalog codes in the 1700s and 1800s. link

These lines have some of the most devoted followers of any old figure line. They were so coveted that many are again in limited production, as Patrick R's post noted.

I don't want to rain on anybody's parade, but if you're interested in selling them, I really think ebay is the way to go. You're going to see a lot of "buy it now" figs that the sellers want $4 USD each for that just sit around forever with no takers. Do a "completed items" search on "Heritage 25mm," "Fantastiques" and "Der Kriegspielers." This should give you a pretty fair read on what the figs you have are worth.

Whether these are originals or repros they should find buyers. I had been a collector, but I stopped some time ago. Good luck.

I have a pile of those 'Great orcs of the red eye', yes they are very crude by todays standards but I love them.

"The legend has it that he went to the UK and consulted with JRRT about how they were supposed to look."

That sounds like a tall tale!

OK, I checked some the figures against the links provided and they are Elan Merchs figures, I believe.
The Balrog is the same and he is pretty tame looking compared to the current GW model. Unfortunately, he is missing one wing. On his base is written 1765 ELAN MERCH and then the copyright sign 1980.
There is a lot of figures loose in baggies and they are probably several sets just thrown together.
There is a set with what looks like Hobbits, with a few tables and benches. There is a spilled drink molded on one of the tables.
There are also complete sets of the NINE both foot and mounted.

Many of the packs are four digits starting with the number ONE, but a couple of the packs start with the number THREE.

I am not looking to overcharge anyone who is a dedicated collector of these figures. In fact, I prefer to trade for GW LOTR figures. I would really like to see them go to someone who appreciates them. Shoot me a PM if interested.

I live in the UK and I have had all the Elan Merch and Der Kriegs I could want from him at very good rates.

Rohan
Isangard

Nazgul
Knights and Magick
Elves
Der Kriegs………..many types
And loads more beside.

Thanks Michael
