I have emailed Eric several times in the last month with no response. Is he dead ?? Is he so busy that my potential order is inconsequential ?? What's the deal here ?? I am really keen to acquire a mid sized space 2" hex gaming mat. Depending on the quality I would probably order a similar sized mat to represent an alien world / moonscape. Is there anybody else (preferably UK/Europe based) who makes & sells these ?? I know CorSecEng exist but their minimum size is WAY too big for me. |

Based upon past email threads regarding Hotz, it seems to be about a 2-3 month wait. I recently recieved my river pieces. It was about a 2 month wait. On a side note his river pieces are really nice. I got a set plus a few extra strips for less than 25.00. It is a good deal if you don't mind waiting a few months. |

I find Kallistra's Hexon II terrain system to be an excellent alternative to a game mat. |

I have a couple of boxes of Hexon II, but am looking for a smaller hex size and the ease/convenience of just laying a cloth on the table. |

I prefer Monday Knight to HotzMats. The 4x6 Hotz Mats aren't 4x6
they're a little smaller. |

Are there any in use examples/pics of Monday Knight Game Mats out there ?? |

Hexon was a good idea but made a horrid design flaw, rivers and roads sit on top. Ruined it for me. Hills, brilliant. Roads and rivers an afterthought in my opinion. |

I generally send out my own images for printing. Runs between $20 USD and $34 USD depending on size. I have two large 4x4 mats for X-Wing that I had printed at gotprint.com. There's another place out there now that does 4x6 for around $30 USD, I'll see if I can find the link. Edit: didn't see this was necro

Buy the felt, make a template and draw the hexes on. Use sharpies or fabric paint as necessary. I've gone from using felt to using thin foam 2'x2' floor tiles for a game mat. They are much sturdier, don't wrinkle, and you can add on as you like. They also aren't affected by the seam between 2 uneven tables. rothgarwb.blogspot.com/2012/10/mini-mech-hex-mat-finished.html |
