• I was told that his company had no money to ship my order because he needed a new order to have money to ship my order to me (Helms Deep Castle). Stated he was waiting on another order to come in from a "Wealthy" customer.
• I demanded he mail my stuff or refund me. No reply.
• He stated that a wealthy customer was fixing to place an order and that he would be able to ship my Helms Deep Castle after that order came in. He says that this is how most business operates.

• I discovered his PayPal account icon was missing off his webpage and then found out that his PayPal account had been closed due to complaints.

• He stated his PayPal account was closed because he changed internet providers, even though his email address stayed the same. He eventually replaces the PayPal address with his wives PayPal email on his website.
• Asked again when shipping Helms Deep castle
• He stated again he was still waiting on more orders to come in, and wished I could place another order so he would have money to ship my castle to me.
• He reminded me of the discount that he gave me

• I asked for photos again of the completed Helms Deep Castle order,

• Never mentioned why they were not in box packed up, like he stated back in August of 2010
• I complained it had been over 30 weeks, when he said 18 weeks for everything…not just one castle.

• Tried emailing him and calling him, finally got a response
• I asked where is Helms Deep Castle and why has it has not shipped
• He stated that he was still looking for boxes for the Helms Deep Castle to be shipped, blamed the snow storm in the winter time and rain. (Remember it was supposed to be boxed up)
• Told me to take a total of $200 USD off the final price
• He bragged about doing extra work on Helms Deep, that I didn't want…and also the fact he admitted they were not finished.

• He stated that his business is being affected by a harassment group over the internet that is affecting his ability to work. And gave this excuse as why it was taking so long. (Never mind about having no box, no money to ship…the waiting on the wood from overseas, etc) Made up another excuse on the spot.

• Finally received parts of Helms Deep Castle in the mail. 2 out of 6 pieces of the castle.

• Over the phone he told me that he got another order for a Minas Tirith castle from another customer and that he would be building my castle along with his at the same time. I asked when it would be completed and he said March of 2012 without any problem. (Keep in Mind he told me Minas Tirith was almost completed way back in august of 2010, and then said it was near completion in March of 2011).
July 7th 2011
• I asked again about the final shipping of Helms Deep castle (he still owed me 2 pieces).
• He stated that his business is being affected by an Internet Harassment group.
• I spoke with him on the phone to find out answers about my castle, but instead all he wanted to do was talk about his Federal lawsuit he was working on to sue the government. And told me how he wanted to move to New Zealand because everyone over there is white. He also seemed to start bashing Jewish people. I had to constantly get him to change back to the subject of the business of making my castle.
• He also stated in the phone call that he said I should not get my children vaccinated because it could kill them…and tried to talk to me about his federal lawsuit of anti-Vaccine and that the government knows it kills but does nothing about it. Again…I only wanted to talk about my order, he seems to be overly obsessed about lawsuits and not his business, except taking your money.

• I emailed and edited some of my order; I cancelled some of the last parts of the additional custom work. I cancelled the Mountain platform and mountain cover for something he made me prior to this. I informed him that he could take what I already paid him and make the Black Gates and the 4 Mountain ranges and call it even.
• He agreed to the terms. These items were to be made after the completion of Minas Tirith.
December 10th 2011
• Asked about Final Helms Deep shipment and when was it shipping. And asked about Minas Tirith being completed.
• He stated "soon" but informed me he had to make 2 Minas Tirith's because a new customer had ordered a Minas Tirith, so he would be making 2 at once and that he would have them both finished in March of 2012.

• He stated it was coming along "slowly" because it's a big castle

• After a week of emailing him asking him how Minas Tirith castle is coming, he finally responds to me and states that he will be unable to complete the castle or the rest of my order because he has been harassed to the point that he is depressed and can no longer function. He stated he will refund my money when His Federal Lawsuit wins in court.

• He states he is filing a lawsuit against the government for not protecting him from Internet harassment. He also is suing YouTube and MySpace.
• I demanded he refund my money , he ignored my plea and refused to refund my money
• I demanded that he finish the project he refused.

My story

In 1997 I ordered a custom Helms Deep Castle (the version out of the David Day Beastiary book for about $900 USD and paid with a discover card check. He said 6 weeks to make. Well It took 8 years to get and it still was missing parts by 2005. I threatened to sue, and he amazingly pumped out my castle. You would think I learned my lesson…NOT.

In 2010, I emailed him asking about the Minas Tirith castle he had. He offered to make it for 50% off. I also got him to do his Helms Deep (the movie version) for 50%…both for $2,100 USD plus shipping which ran into about $1,100. USD I made him promise that the same thing would not happen again, I wanted my castles fast, allowing the 6 weeks for each castle as quoted on his website. He started out working on Helms Deep first. He said they BOTH would be done around November of 2010. He repeatedly asked for more money every two weeks, because he needed money for supplies, and that he was giving me a good deal, etc. So I paid him a few extra hundred dollars. Well, around October of 2010, he told me Helms Deep was finished and needed the other half plus shipping. I paid. I also decided to pay everything in full including the shipping cost for both castles…a total of $3,900. USD I waited and waited for Helms Deep to ship, he REpromised it would be there by Christmas of 2010. Then Jan 2011 came and went, He told me he couldnt find a box to ship it all in, and blamed the snow and rain in the winter…..then March 2011 came around, then he told me that Helms Deep was finished (AGAIN) but he had no money to ship the castle, and needed to wait for a new order, and use that money to ship. I waited and waited started threatening law suits, contacting the Better Business Bureau, etc….but didnt. From the time I ordered back in July of 2010, 2 complaints had been filed at the Better Business Bereau in New Jersey. Finally I received the Helms Deep castle in about 6 different shipments…but it to this day is still not complete.

Once it was here, he said he began work on Minas Tirith, which is on his website as well. He supposively started working on Minas Tirith in August or September of 2011. He said he was building two Minas Tirith at the same time and that he would have the both built quickly becasue he needed the table space….remember Im a nice guy…and Im excited about getting Minas Tirith…my judgement is totally clouded. He said March of 2012. He also stated that he was being harrassed by people all over the internet such as police, people on Youtube, all kinds of stuff, I didnt really care to hear, and that the harrassment was really effecting his business…and that he was filing federal lawsuits against the government…another one of his hobbies. I contacted him 2 days ago…after trying for 1 week to talk to him…after not hearing from him at all. He stated that he was not going to complete my castle because he is too depressed because of all the harrassement he is getting from people over the internet, and he cant complete my castle. He said when He wins the FEDERAL lawsuit against the US Government, he would pay me back the $2,500 USD plus 18% interest. He is blaming the US Government for people harrassing him at the police department, youtube, google, whatever. He refuses to refund my money now, and refuses to finish the castle that is bought and paid for, and over $600 USD paid.

A side note…..in the middle of this around jan of 2011, I also asked him to make me the black gates, with 4 mountain ranges, along with a few other things, a mountain and a bridge….I paid an additional $500 USD down for all that stuff, I still owed him around $500. USD 5 monthes ago, my wife got pregnant, so I canceled half of the extra stuff….and told him to just do the black gates and mountain ranges for $500 USD and that is paid in full….he agreed.

So that being said,….Im out of that $500 USD as well.

So all in all, Im out about $2,700 USD, and I wont get it back from this loser. I filed a compliant with the BBB today, and filed a complaint with the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General…along with EVERY email he ever sent…and this guy sent me some really *** excuses….Im very sure he broke multiple NEW JERSEY Comsumer Laws…hopefully they will investigate him and fine him.

He also told me he had 4 other customers that he could complete the work…and I know he took thier money too.

Obviously I am a really *** person to do business with him again….my judgement was clouded with excitement.

Hello there Tom, I've been having problems with my email. I have been receiving all kinds of harassment for some time now.

My castle work has suffered considerably due to the serious harassment I've been subjected to, and I am unable to complete the castle work. The harassment against me has been ongoing and I am in the process of filing federal lawsuits.

They have engaged in phone harassment against me. On Youtube they opened up several accounts using my photo, to pretend to be me. They then used those accounts to make nasty statements to people, threats, mocks and to generally start trouble and harass people.

I now have a federal lawsuit filed against Youtube and Verizon since they basically allow harassment. I am also filing a lawsuit against the government here, for failing to provide me with equal protection under the law.

Right now, we really don't have any good laws in place to protect against that type of harassment. My lawsuit will ask for existing law to be deemed unconstitutional and amended so that a mandatory minimum $5,000 USD fine is imposed against anyone who uses another person's photo or name in a derogatory manner.

They have been doing this to me off and on for years, and it has caused me depression and totally interfered with my castle work. What I am doing now, is adding up the orders my company has, which I have been unable to fulfill, and am submitting them with my federal lawsuit as "business losses". I will be demanding your $2,500.00 USD be returned plus shipping, plus any other payments you made, plus interest.

Yes, I know….it should have been, but I tried to be forgiving…my dad had a bad back injury when he was alive, a cracked disc and became handicapped, and I tried to give him some sympathy…..and I got taken advantage of. That is what happens when your kind to someone like that. They run all over you.

But yea, your right, I was very stupid….my wife beat me up over it.

Just posting my story. None of my words are false, all true.

All of this came from every email I saved. This went to the NJ ATTorney General with all the email proof. Along with the Texas Attorney General. My Lawyer has a copy of it already, and he has already broken Texas Consumer Protection laws. New Jersey laws are worse.

He should just send me my refund now, or ship me a castle, if he was smart. But I think he just thinks I will just except the loss, and he runs off with my money. He has none of my money to ship me anything, because he obviously spent it already way back. I just held on to the other half…my stupidity.

But instead, silence. I have never been so helpless feeling. Its like that feeling you have when your house has been broken into and you have been robbed. You feel Violated.

Shame – they look like they could be decent display and gaming models.

another sad thing, I painted over 2000 miniatures of Lord of the Rings to have the battle with the Minas Tirith castle I was expecting from him. So all that work for nothing.

Have you contacted your credit card company? Perhaps they can help. Paypal also has a dispute department.

Jowady, the Paypal claims is 45 days, and used mostly my savings from my bank account. So basically that is not an option. However, I still complained to Paypal, made 8 claims and disputes.

Still no refund and no email….this guy just blows my mind….I plan on pressing criminal charges

Oh I plan on filing complaint after complaint to the Attorney Generals office, and to the Better Business bureau FOREVER…until he gives me my money back. Once the Attorney General office tells me his has infact violated a law, I will charge him with the approiate charge at his local police department.

He thinks I will just forget about this. He made a mistake, I will never forget…I plan on writing Wargame Illustrated or Miniature Wargame mag where I first read about him in the 1982 issue…forgot what month. But that is how it all started.

He better come up with something soon, if he knows best. I wish he would try to sue me, so I can embarrase him in court in front of a judge.

Today, the NJ Better Business Bureau closed my complaint, NO RESPONSE from the business…there are a total of 2 complaints, NO RESPONSES….nothing worse than a Thief.

and on a side note, his castle making skills…are nothing exceptional. IMO its not worth a 1/4 of the price.

I'm not sure how it works in the U.S but here in England you can take the case to a small claims court. Put simply if the defendant ignores your claim a judgement is made against them by default. If they ignore the judgement then, for a small fee, the court will enforce it and send the bailiffs in. Its a fairly simple process and not expensive.
My parents followed it recently with a building firm who took their money and didn't carry out any work. When the bailiffs tuned up at the builders premises the money miraculously appeared.
In my experience threats of action tend to be ignored but a letter or warrant from a court wakes people up.

Yea works the same here or close to it. Its the next step, but Im also trying to at least get the NJ attorney General involved, because he as obviously violated laws. That will help my case in the end. I dont expect my money back…he is a loser, and has no money

Im not worried about that, its been made clear, I feel stupid for going back, but again…just making people aware of my story so they dont have to go thru what I went thru, not looking for any sympathy or any suggestions…just reporting the story to the consumer board as one should do, to help out my fellow gamers. Last updated 2008, and he mentions that "he is currently working on a castle for a client." I guess it was one of yours?

I notice he also makes several copies of the fortifications from the Lord of the Rings movies (as your saga already intimated). They appear to be essentially exact copies of the designs from the films. I'm sure he has a license for that, though.

Peter Jackson does not source work to shabby little operators as he has a variety of sources he uses. Jeez this guys sounds like he deserves everything he gets.

An update….just contacted the Attorney Generals office and they are waiting on a responce from him. The investigator told me that this is the 2nd case they have had against them in 7 years. The first one was from a person in the UK, who filed a complaint in 2005 or so. The Investigator is very impressive, and I feel alot better that someone is on my side. It was the same story as mine, paid, got nothing but excuses, etc, no money returned.

Anyways, hopefully justice will be served in the end….I hope. I dont expect my money back.

I have better faith in local government now.

Meanwhile, I am still building my own Minas Tirith, and it is looking good. It is made of foam, but still looks good.

I have finished the Citadel, and now working on the terrain, but my hot knife broke, and I am waiting on another one in the mail.

I made a small update to my Minas Tirith construction page, 2 photos added. I did some test painting and still working on the outer walls. The Citadel is finished, but not painted completed, I added a roof to the citadel and added a tree and fountain and statue.

So I decided to make my own Minas Tirith since being ripped off. I am 90% or more finished. I started on March 26th 2012, had a week or two off from working on it, total weeks so far equal about 6 weeks. All work done in my spare time, I have a 40 hour work week, etc….and its taken me 6 weeks. Imagine, if I had no job, and I stayed home all day, how quickly I could complete it….hint.

As for the less than charitable or lacking empathy comments just ignore them. We all have busy lives and it is sometimes easy for any of us to forget the odd thing or become sidetracked and, I'm afraid to say, that there are many individuals like this crook across all walks of life, hwoever, we tend to seem them more in hour hoobies as they are not regulated not governed. I've come across a couple in the past and I now LOL at their antics and just ignore them. I do hope you pursue this guy and get justice (although justice can often seem fleeting), if justice fails remember revenge is best served cold and sweet when they least expect it ;)

I do hope I get some kind of Justice, I am trying hard to put my faith in the NJ Consumer department…they seem to be on myself, and it does help that there is another complaint against him from someone else in the UK…so that is a bonus.

If he was smart he would just make me another MT….he would be saving money there, since he offered to make it at $1,250. USD.and he owes me $2,500 USD…If I was him, I would make it, and ship it, and call it even….

I will find out…hopefully….but at least I have a Minas Tirith (even if I had to make it myself)…and I am very happy about that.

Looks like the idiot removed all of his videos. I'll bet that if someone is "using his picture to harass him" it was because he ripped them off and he's not just the victim of random harassment.

This was a comment left at website where I filed a consumer complaint….its obviously him posing as someone. Its pretty funny. He is probably upset because he is being served a subpoena this month forcing him to appear to the Consumer Affairs department in Monmouth county, to make a statement. Which he has ignored thier requests for the past 6 weeks.

Why would a business owner not want to make a statement to the consumer affairs department on a business transaction, if all is lawful?

Justice is about to be served, this I know, but wont say exactly how I know.

Hey man look at what this guy's doing with that lawsuit. Take a look guys. He was being harassed big time and his lawsuit is trying to get all the harassment banned. cool

The lawsuit was filed by the guy who owns the Castle Works company. If his lawsuit goes through, he's demanding all sorts of new laws be created to protect everyone.

Hold up man, lighten up on this duede.

I see your concerns on getting your order on time but woah man, lay off this Castle Works guy. His lawsuit says someone took his photo like identity theft so people think its him. They been using his photo makin death threats and racism.

Criminal charges were filed, however they were dropped, because "Theft" can not be proved in a court of law, such as he making half the order, and then has not finished the other half. I understand thier point. It is a hard case to prove in a criminal court. But laws have been broken in the consumer laws, which lands in the Consumer Affairs department. The Consumer affairs department turned over the case to the prosocuter office in hopes of filing charges, since there are multiple claims.

The case is still open in the Consumer Affairs office, and they are preparing to fine the company with penalties, as well as work to shut the company down on the internet.

All this would go away if he would just wise up and build me what he owes me or refund my money….all the problems would go away.

I was informed that he refused to pay me back or build my order, because of inexcuseable reasons.

Turns out after telling a "Government" offical that he can no longer work, or refund me…he still is doing business. And offered to build the same castle he owes me for someone else.

Not mad, just an update for those who want to read. Hopefully my story will make others think before they spend a lot of money on the internet on anything..period. Unfortunately there was nothing to research about this company before I bought….and I didint even learn from my own history with this guy. So its all on me, it is my fault, and I except that I was blinded by my passion for wanting a very cool toy.

But some of have to learn the hard way.
