I have read that the flag poles for Russian standards varied in colour depending on the seniority of the regiment within the division. However I have not found a definitive desciption of how this worked. Also I am not sure as to whether it was still the case in 1812. Does anyone know a good source for infantry and cavalry pole colours? Also, and this may sound odd, but did the same apply to drumsticks? If so, what were their colours?
