Singular or plural, to save on space.
These words that should not be used for a while, since they all tend to run together.
I am currently writing "Flames of Liberty" for AWI gaming, BTW. NOT,

1) Flame
2) War
3) Glory
4) Sword
5) Honor (or Honour)
6) Field

I hope no one has "Fields of Flames", or "Swords of Honour" currently on the word procvessor.

On a related topic, I am glad to see that the alliterative triple play titles have died out.
Boobies, Blunderbusses and Broadsides for coed Pirate gaming, anyone?

Spreewaldgurken06 Mar 2012 6:14 p.m. PST

Thunder
Eagles
Emperor
Twilight
Storm

…and any pigeon French or German.

darthfozzywig06 Mar 2012 6:19 p.m. PST

I did a geeklist on BGG once that had 8 entries with the word "Glory" just from WWI games alone.

Mooseworks806 Mar 2012 6:20 p.m. PST

Dragons
Dungeons
War
Warhammer
Hammer?

John the OFM06 Mar 2012 6:23 p.m. PST

At least we have now pre-empted "Dungeons of the Emperor" and "Hammer of the Eagles"!

Keep up the good work!

Science Fiction games that include the word "Star."

P.S. Better rename my draft of "Dragons at Twilight: Emperors, Eagles, and Honor."

Aren't these all Sharpe novels?

redbanner414506 Mar 2012 9:11 p.m. PST

Fire, in any language.

flooglestreet06 Mar 2012 9:13 p.m. PST

Fortunately nobody has taken Achtung PanzerKrieg! yet, but I better hurry or I'll have to find a new title for my War of Jenkins Ear rules.

Pizzagrenadier06 Mar 2012 9:18 p.m. PST

Disposable
Coffin
Brothers

But not necessarily in that order.

John the OFM06 Mar 2012 9:24 p.m. PST

Panzer!
Krieg!!

How could I have left them out?

"Ear", though, is relatively fresh.
However, I do know that there at least 7 new rules coming out for the War of Jenkins Ear in 2012 (one of the perks of being Da Awards Commissioner!), so you had better act quickly.

David Manley06 Mar 2012 11:22 p.m. PST

"Faction"

"Trait"

"Boobies"

<P.S. Better rename my draft of "Dragons at Twilight: Emperors, Eagles, and Honor.">

Yes, "Dragons OF Twilight …" would be much better.

Interesting -- I have never seen a set of rules with that in the title. Please cure my ignorance.

So far, it looks as if I am fairly safe with the next three titles I have in mind -- "Palembang Ramrod", "BG Sunray", and either "Neverwar II -- Buckets of Sunshine" or just possibly "Supermac and the Violet Club Boondoggle".

All the best,

John.

timlillig07 Mar 2012 10:34 a.m. PST

No such words.

Think of the most cliche name you can, "Honor Wars in the Age of Flame" or something, if the rules are good, I'll play them.

I am working on my new ruleset called The war swords of glory on the flaming field of honor.

Whatisitgood4atwork07 Mar 2012 5:40 p.m. PST

Oh, and 'Art', especially when teamed with 'of'.

John the OFM07 Mar 2012 8:04 p.m. PST

You there!
Yes, you!
You know who I am talking to.
The guy writing "Hammers of Honour"!
YES, YOU!
Stop that!
