Great movie!

The people who did the miniatures work for the Japanese fleet did similar work in propaganda films during the war. Apparently some of it has survived but I've never been able to find any.

The only Pearl Harbour movie you ever need to watch.

During the filming I was stationed on a submarine rescue ship (USS Greenlet) in Pearl Harbor. The attack on the submarine color party was filmed in the berth next to ours. It always sent a chill up my spine to see "flak" bursts and planes circling Ford Island as we approached the harbor mouth after a day at sea.

55 Days at Peking was on early this am.TCM is one of the few places where you can watch decent stuff on a regular basis. No commercials(other than their own)either.

The Michael Bay film with Ben Affleck is twice the movie. Far more historically accurate, too.

Darth, you bad Sith, you.

It's a great movie, with some great actors.

Michael Bay did a movie about the 55 days at Peking? Staring Ben Affleck?

Cool.. need to watch that one..

I have the DVD at home along with the making of the film documentary. Great Movie. Remember seeing some of the ships at the Planes of Fame/Cars of the Stars Museum back in the 70's. The ship models were large, IIRC about 8' long and may have been about 1/72 scale.

Alwats thought that if some of the action scenes from Pearl Harbor were cut into Tora Tora Tora would make a fantastic movie

Michael Bay's version would be titled 55 Days of Puking.

"Tora, Tora, Tora!" is a great film! Watch it whenever it is on.

Tora, Tora, Tora! is what war movies should be. Exciting, historically accurate, with the best possible equipment available at the time. One of my favorite war movies and the best of the Pearl Harbor attack movies.

Michael Bay'smovie does have some good points though, Kate Beckinsale being one of them! :-)

My first memory of Tora Tora Tora was seeing it at a local drive-in with my folks in about 1972. I agree that it is a good example on how to make a film about a historical event while keeping it compelling, dramatic, etc.

Itīs funny, I just watched that last Sunday. My wife was away from home for a few hours, my daughter was in her room playing, my son was upstairs on his computer, and I found myself alone in the living room. The first thing I thought of was Tora Tora Tora, and popped it into the dvd. Great film!

The first time I saw this was at the cinema when it came out in 1970. My uncle Curtis, who was in the Marines at Pearl Harbor and went on to lose a leg at Vella La Vella, took me, and I think I was the proudest kid in the world.

Saw it last night. Still fantastic.

I might add that the use of music in Tora Tora Tora to heighten dramatic tension was perfect.

RazorMind02 Mar 2012 9:03 a.m. PST

All were right, this was a really good movie. Loved it.

Super movie. I remember seeing it in the theatre. As the Japanese attack rolled in the audience was quietly watching in rapt attention. When the P-40s shot down their first victims the whole theatre broke into applause. Felt like, "Enough of this, we're fighting back!"

I saw it as a kid when it premiered in Hawaii. My mom took me to it, and I wish I still had that movie booklet that we bought. Dean
