Does anyone know of a good place to find skirmish scenarios for the British contribution to OIF 1. Really just interested in the "conventional" portion of the war, the battles in Az Zubayr, Umm Qasr and Basra. I thought that Road to Baghdad would have at least a couple but from the reviews I have read, does not appear that way. Any help would be greatly appreciated, even board games that could be adapted would be helpful.

Go to Google Earth, type in Basrah. We had some busy times in the area of the Clover Leaf – 30 32 20 92"N 47 45 16 69"E. Also the Bread Basket which is the large complex to the SW. Loads of scenarios with river crossings at the bridges. A good one might be the use of M3s to get a Sqn of CII across to the Al Fawr in support of 3 Cdo Bde. Another might be taking the airport.

Most of the actions were fairly small scale "dipping the toe in" type actions, probing over the bridges and into the outskirts, gradually pushing further and further into the city.

Thanks for the information nickinsomerset, I will check it out. It was a disappointment to learn there were no scenarios for the Brits in Road to Baghdad.

Interesting bit of color and a true story. A single USMC M-1 tank was unofficially 'attached' to one of the Royal Marine Commando's for a few days near Um Qasar. It had engine problems and fell out of the march. It was fixed and was fueling up, when a Royal Marine Sgt came up and said they needed some help with enemy strongpoints. The single tank "worked for them" for a few days before receiving the order to catch up with their organic tank battalion. Not doctrinally correct armor employment but an example of things that can happen.
