I've been painting some 28mm supers in anticipation of Ganesha Games' Power Legions rules. I've also been turning my mind to terrain.

For awhile I considered building Gotham from cork tile. But a friend ran a lovely cops and robbers game at the club last week using some railway buildings. I went and picked one up and painted it this weekend:

I think I'm sold on this as the way to go. A bit small but the detailing is lovely and I now have the painting skills to pull it off.

Looks great, is that O scale?
And did you repaint the superheroes figures?

Bob in Edmonton26 Feb 2012 3:48 p.m. PST

Thanks. It is HO scale (1/87)--a bit small for 28mm but close enough.

The figures are repainted, washed and rebased Heroclix.

I'm in the same boat – waiting for Power Legions, bunches of old Clix (plus quite a few pewter supers), and no terrain!

I thought about using those .pdf assemble your own buildings with cardboard boxes but it seems like a lot of work for little result. The HO building looks about right, since superheroes are larger than life anyway!

Plus a gaming board:

I've given up waiting for Power Legions and bought Super System 3 instead. I'm hopeful I could get a game going sometime in January and try it out at the club in February.

They look great with those miniatures!

Those look really great! I agree that heroes are larger than life, and as a bonus you can use the structures in modern-scifi battles to boot!
My kids just got some superhero minis from santa to battle the reaper dr dread I use as a scifi general. We also have lots of cardstock buildings to game across. We use GURPS for rules and the kids are finishing up their painting for a superhero game leading into the New Year.
Our next family project will be building dr dread's evil lair using stoziels structures modular lair kit. Dr Dread will be their adversary for some time to come!
I like the look of the heroclix figures, I may have to see how they scale with the reaper figures. I haven't heard of the Power Legion rules, I might have to pay attention to reviews here when it is available. wink

Thanks guys. I've given up waiting on Power Legions and have moved onto SUper System. I am hopeful to get a game in shortly. I quite like slightly underscale scenery. And evil lair sounds wonderful!

One more building today with more built and ready to paint: link
