My figures are rather old, mostly front rank and some Dixons and I would like to add some new french, British and Indian figures. I live in the uk so either UK manufactured or distributed please, importing from the US is not a good idea. Europe is not so bad. Thanks Andy |

I'm in the UK too, but the USA Conquest miniatures are IMHO the best conquestminiatures.com and they have a 20% discount sale on (ends tomorrow) which could offset the dreaded the import duty. You could email them to see if they have a UK distributor. Check the following for a list of manufacturers link |

Second the Conquest Miniatures range, Perrys have a compatible selection. Old Glory's woodland Indians are worth a look. |

I have to support the Conquest miniatures range. I have a ton of their figs and they are all quite nice. |

I love the conquest figures too. I don't know if anyone is distributing them in the UK, but with the sale it is probably worth trying them at least. |

Also don't forget that the Indians from the Perry AWI range can mostly be used as well and they are definitely from the UK. |

Galloping Major, easily available as its based in the UK, a superb, rapidly expanding range. Loads of great figures. |

Conquest Miniatures, although I wish they would re-visit some of their figures for a better looking pose. |

The French and Indian War range by Redoubt Enterprises is quite impressive, and based in the UK. Somewhat larger than Dixon's range, but compatible, especially if based individually for skirmish. |

Must admit i do like those conquest miniatures
.. The redoubt ones look pretty good too and will be easier to get. Think I MIGHT order some conquest. |

Another vote for Conquest. |

OK just ordered $84 USD of conquest miniatures plus $16 USD postage and god knows what customs will slap on top. From the pics the models look very nice indeed. |

I really like the Redoubt stuff, but also am impressed with Galloping Major too. |

My first choice would be Conquest. The Redoubt range is impressive too although these figures are on the larger end of the size spectrum. RSM figures from the US are nice and very inexpensive ($0.90 per figure is hard to beat), which more than offsets any shipping and duty payments that you would incur. |

Conquest. Hands down the best FIW models available. |

Redoubt and Conquest are the top two. But they are not really compatible in size. Redoubt are a head taller and much thicker in the body. Closer to 30 mm than 28 mm. Conquest are slimmer and right at the 28 mm mark. Sculpting is excellent within both lines. Redoubt have a much wider selection and the range is much more complete, so that's a plus. Conquest are compatible with Old Glory, Eureka, Foundry and Perry which is a big plus. Redoubt are pretty close in size to Galloping Major, which is one in their favor. Galloping Major is really a nice line of figures with outstanding sculpting. Right up there with Redoubt and Conquest. You could use the mix of all the figures that match Conquest for bigger battles and use some Redoubt for a more skirmish type scenario. You should also look at the Old Glory line, which is really very good. I am not a huge fan of Old Glory, but this is one of their best lines. Probably only second to their War of 1812 line, in my opinion. So lots of choices available and all of them good. Or, you can be like me and buy them all. |

Conquest. Hands down. Accept no other, unless, like me, you require mad amounts, then Old Glory and Eureka do just fine. But Eric's stuff IS the standard. And I do love Eureka and Old Glory (especially their 1812 line

Another vote for Conquest, followed by Perry! |

I tend to choose on individual figure animation with irregular style forces – for eg I love the Old Glory French command pack in tins range, and the British troops marching figures with muskets slung over their shoulders. |

UPDATE I have my conquest miniatures from the US, plus Redoubt and front rank from the UK. The conquest miniatures Indians are very nice. The other models are nice too but deffinitely not superior to front rank or redoubt. I of course got absoloutely creamed by customs on import duties, handling charges etc. My humble opinion. this side of the Atlantic stick to front line and redoubt. US side, stick to Conquest miniatures. Only my humble opinion. |

Update. I picked up an order of Frnt Rank yesterday at Salute. They are really beautiful models. I have to say although Redoubt and conquest are good, my money is going to Front Rank. Andy |
