One of my regular opponents got me back to the Naval gaming this weekend with a small General Quarters battle set in 1943.

Very nice write up, thanks for posting! GQ, despite its age, usually gives a realistic result, as was the case here. Your tactics were very good, so it looks like the naval gamer in you was just sleeping :)

Nice AAR, WW2 Naval AAR's are too rare around here.

You may want to try GQ3, the latest version of the rules you're playing.

GQ is one o f my favorite rule sets for WWII naval. I've been reading through GQ3 and can't wait to get started on it. Tht is if I can get time from work to play a game!
