I know LBMS has sets of shield designs for Ligurians when they were Roman auxiliaries, but what kind of designs would they have used before then, when they were fighting Rome?

One of my coworkers has them in his Carthaginian army, but we are trying to find shield designs, so far all we've come up with is Roman designs, like the decals.

Any ideas?

I would use Gallic or Iberian ones.

I think that we have something like two contemporary depictions of what is taken to be Ligurians, none of them in colour, giving us no clue to how their shields were painted?

Something vaguely celtic ornamental is probably fine.

Any links to pictures of those designs?

Gallic is probably your best bet, but as there is so little information, do whatever you feel like and no-one can say they are wrong.
