I plan to put on the Battle of Hannah's Cowpens -- January 1781; next month for our local gaming group, using the "British Grenadier" ruleset. Besides LtCol Tarlton as CinC and Maj MacArther, commanding the 71st Highlanders, are the names of other British-Loyalist field grade officers who fought at Cowpens known?

I need a second sub-general under Banastre Tarlton, and would like to use an historical name from the actual battle.

The names of American commanders who participated -- Morgan, Washington, Pickens, etc., are well known, but I've been unable to find the actual names of subordinate British commanders for the 7th Fusiliers, the converged light infantry, and the British Legion Horse and Foot.

I believe Major Newmarsh was commanding the 7th, as Tarleton recorded that Newmarsh was still posting his officers when the 7th collided with the 71st.

Babit indicates that Captain John Rousselet, the one British Legion infantry officer killed at Cowpens, was serving as the Legion commander.

Captain Ogilvie led the detachment of the 17th Light Dragoons on the left flank, ahead of the 71st.

Dale, Thank you much!

Captain John Rousselet will be my third British command stand for the game, along with LtCol Tarleton and Maj MacArthur.
