I want to run some SOBH games with more than 2 players and I am wondering if anyone out there has any good tips. I was thinking about splitting the two side in order to accommodate four people and have the turns pass to the opposing team when quality roles are missed. Thanks for any good suggestions. |

The last of the three campaigns in SONG OF THE SPLINTERED LANDS is for multi-players. "This campaign features multiple warbands per side, hence bigger battles. Each warband can be commanded by a different gamer, or one player can command each side. Each SIDE (Moonglade or Alliance)moves all of its warbands together (simultaneously if warbands are commanded by different players); play passes to the other side when all of a side's warbands have rolled a turnover or moved all of that side's models." It is fairly straightforward and intuitive, and doesn't require a great deal of sitting around by inactive players. You'll have to decide whether players can advise teammates on strategy; we've done it both ways, and it is really a matter of taste, though it ought to be agreed on before hand and be the same for both sides. |

This campaign features four battles of increasing size on the same terrain, which is a hill fort under construction. The first battle each side has two 500 point warbands, and no fortifications have been completed. Between games the defenders gradually add a third warband, a dry ditch, a weak stockade wall, and finally towers and a blockhouse, while the attacks become larger, with a wider range of troop types as goblin and ogre clans from further away arrive, including (for the last battle) the bat clan that can fly over the walls. Dwarven balloonboats lift out wounded and bring in replacements between battles, and VPs can be spent for reenforcements. By the last battle any model surviving since the first battle will have gained enough experience to get an increase in Q or C. This campaign is specifically geared for the Bob Olley miniatures sold by Splintered Light (dwarves, various goblin clans plus bugbears and ogres, fauns and satyrs, etc.) though any other miniatures and lines could certainly be substituted, with the given scenario serving as a general guide. There's also a number of new rules, including for fortifications. |

I've run a number of 4 player games where the players are in teams and the play cycles from player 1 team1 – player1 team 2 -player2 team1 – player2 team2. Works fine. Robert |

We found toaster's method made the games quite long. We usually use the first method mentioned by Doc McBride. |
