Ok. I need a little more advice. This time I need to figure out shield colors for Praetorian Guard and then the basing. My plan is to flock them with Woodland Scenics blended turf. Should I paint the bases GW Goblin Green or equivalent or GW Snot Green or equivalent? |

I would use sheet brown or GW equivalent. That way if blended turf flakes off you can see brown sheet. That's the only terrain Romans fought in. Dead and cold body blue or GW equivalent is good for shields and uniforms for Praetorians :-) I must warn you that GW paints are specifically formulated for GW figures only. They may melt your non GW approved Romans. |

GW paints will not work with Woodland Scenics turf either. It's not that they are incapable of it, it just violates all sense of ritual purity. |

Red or blue shield colors are ok!! Mike Adams |

Yes use a bare earth color, apply patches of green turf. Looks more natural, and if any turf flakes off, it still looks good. |

That's what I'm going to do in the end. For those shields, I'm going to do blue primary, for that raised section in the middle of the shield, anything special I should do? |

IMHO, I would use brass or silver color. Mike Adams |
