I've just bought a whole bunch of these for my SYW project. There doesn't seem to be much about them on TMP, so I have written a review on my blog here for anyone who might be interested: link Chris |

Yes, they are great flags. I always scan them to allow me to resize them. |

Great flags and great service. Our group has a shed-load of them. |

Chris, Good review, I have never liked flag dude stuff, almost looks like pixels to me, like these though and if availability is good I am tempted will review their lists, like many others love GMB, have considered Maverick and Battle Flag as well for other periods, there certainly is plenty of choice these day. Nearly forgot Adofo Ramos as well, use his for Carlist Wars. Mark. |

Agree with all the positive remarks. I do use GMB flags as well, but Brian's range is very comprehensive and has enabled me to dress my minor nations properly as well as the usual suspects. I used to paint my own flags but wouldn't dream of doing that now. And as you say, the service to the UK is remarkably swift and good value. |

My "problem" is that mix-n-match is difficult between the two options. Principally, this is not "aesthetic," although Vaubanner flags are "plain" and GMB are "shaded" to look like the "sheets" are fluttering (or folding slightly in the breeze). The problem is, they are not sized the same -- Vaubanners are smaller than GMBs (for the British & French anyway). I have several sets of GMB British flags, and one set of Vaubanner. I do not feel comfortable using the two sets together (and have not); not even in the same "army" never mind the same "column" or "brigade."
just don't look right
Of course, ONCE one has paid Brian for a sheet of his flags, so long as one does not abuse the spirit & letter of the law, then scanning, increasing the size, and then printing ONE new copy for personal use on quality paper on a color printer, should allow employing re-sized Vaubanners that match the size of GMBs (setting the original aside, and not using it -- for my conscience). GMB only make Austrian, British, French, Prussian & Russian flags. Vaubanner has the added value of including SYW lesser states AND several WAS lesser states (especially usefully -- the Dutch!). Vaubanners also include WAS Spanish, which should also still be good for the 1762 campaign in Portugal. Not sure about "size," but scanning, increasing, and printing as above could fix any issue there? |

I've just received my Austrian SYW flags from Brian & am most impressed by both service & quality. Sizewise they look about right to me although they're currently still on the sheet. I'll be getting more. |

Brian's flags are more or less to scale, Graeme's cater to the trend for oversized flags popular among wargamers. Both gentlemen will re-size their products on request, for a nominal premium. |
