Saw a news item a while ago about a bloke who has a lump of concrete from every WWII airbase in East Anglia. So, do you collect samples of military concrete ? Yes No |

No, but I ship concrete barriers (Class IV). Does that count? Eric |

Way before the scene in "Saving Private Ryan" where the GI collected soil from everwhere he went into a tin can; I did the same thing. Usually took a small amount of dirt in a baby food jar, and a rock that I could write the name and date on with a Sharpie
I had quite a collection
that "went away" when I got divorced

Errrr, maybe not at home, but we do have rather quite a few in my container yard at the moment
And I tend to work a lot, that my office feels a bit like home. Without the fun bits, of course. Or the beagles. Eric |

Have a stone from the Perfume River from my tour in RVN from the Ashau Valley A bit of the Berlin wall. A stone from the Lion Mount at Waterloo. And a brick fragment from the Fort Montgomery armory up near West Point before they redid it and buried the original site for a new one. Dirt from Bastogne and Malmedy. Also from Ahrnem |

Allegedly a piece of the Sphinx, brought back during WWII by SWMBO's grandfather. Just looks like a piece of coarse sandstone to me
