Well, I arrived home from a day at the office to find a very heavy box from Jason at Micropanzer Wargame Studio. Once I got it open it was filled with a ton of very nice things, but the main one that caught my attention was the much anticipated Russian Heavy Combat Armor. The armor is meant to be a 28mm Power Armor trooper, but since I play 15mm games, it is going to take the role of a 15mm Mech for my Russian forces. Link: link The models are very nice in all metal with a lot of detail parts and a lot of flexibility in poses. Since they were done via CAD to make the masters, there are some areas with some 3D print lines, but they are minor in my opinion and greatly offset by the other great features of the models. I only mention it since some people around here hate the lines and get mad if we don't mention them. I would not worry about them myself. Jason has worked and worked to make these come to life and I really appreciate his efforts to make a great product. Now, what everyone likes to ask is how do they look next to other 15mm miniatures, so I will help you out with that. Here are some quick shots with some items sitting around my photo table. Rebel HAMR and VIPER Suits. Other Micropanzer Walkers and a Critical Mass Games Walker. Some old DLD armor vehicles. Finally a CAV Mech, an 1/87 Heavy Gear and a couple of the current 1/144 size Heavy Gears. Hope this helps and really wish you would support Jason in his efforts with Micropanzer Wargame Studio. I've been looking at those for the past few days. Definitely going to order a few, along with a couple of Valkyur. Now
which infantry to pair them with

They really do work well as 15mm mecha don't they. |
AVAMANGO | 14 Feb 2012 4:12 a.m. PST |
Perfect scale for Light Mecha they look to be on the same scale as the GZG's old Mecha Carnage range. |

Very nice! They are certainly useful for 15mm. BTW, what CAV & 1/144 HG minis are pictured? |

what CAV & 1/144 HG minis are pictured Trueth be told I don't know without effort to look them up since I don't play either game. I got the minis for use with 15mm forces and did not need to know much about them in regards to their original systesm. Sorry. Maybe someone here with more insight than I have can answer this one. @JRacel – I was curious about using the CAV & HG minis in 15mm. I don't play those games either. I'll do some research then. |

The Russian armour suits are 28mm-scale? What's their back story -- I'm trying to see how a man fits into it. That mecha holding the knife is hilarious. |

That mecha holding the knife is hilarious. That's a Rebel Mike kind of thing . . . :) Don't forget the swords the other HMARs have. They are much scarier at that scale than the "little" knife. @Umpapa I wish I could help you with the comparisons you requested, but the only ones I think I have the Ayame. Remind me to see about getting you some comparison with them. |

Hey Jeff, What is that walker on the left in the last picture? |
JRacel | 14 Feb 2012 8:47 a.m. PST |
MiniatureReview, I had to check, but pretty sure it's a CAV Mantis from Reaper. Jeff |

The Heavy Gear are all Southern. Not sure what the model they are. Black Mamba? maybe? They are not the larger Cobra model. @Jeff, had to throw some DLD models in there eh? |

The micropanzer models have a little paint envy going on -- I am working on a set of resin posed in 3 variants to where all customers will have to do is glue on head – hood arms and shoulder pads. I am hoping this will drop the price or enable me to keep it at 50.00 Thanks for posting the pictures -- If I get a ton of orders I will cut you in on some swag. |

Snakekeye Black Mamba with sniper laser rifle I think the other one is an Iguana, possibly a Blitz Iquana because its carrying a LAC. Both are HO/RAFM |

Jason, yes, they are lacking some paint, but at least I got one assembled last night after getting home from the office! Rebel Mike was the loser in this since I assmbled the Armor rather than working on painting some items for his storefront. Sorry Mike! The Resin sounds like a good idea since it will be lighter and easier to assemble, but the metal is not bad. I used two part 5 Minute Epoxy. Haywire is likely dead on about the Gears since I've gotten more than a few from him in the past! Thanks. Jeff |

I hope he manages to do the true 15mm version, as I really would like to see this great miniatures for power armour troops. |

Some folks asked for some of the smaller Critical Mass Walkers and some of Khurasan's Space Demons to be added to the comparison, so here they are.
