Which biplane, developed after the First World War, do you consider to be the best? |

The most beautiful the Kawasaki KI-10 IMHO. The best as in best performance, the Fiat CR42. |

Fokker C.X. First built in 1933, the Finns retired the last of theirs in 1958! |

Fairy Fox
the fast bomber that made the RAF realise that it had to get some faster fighters! |

The Hawker Fury was the first plane that popped into my head, but the CR42 is probably a better choice. |

I agree with the CR42, but I think the era in question is too broad. I think it would be more fair to break it down at least into the 1920s and 1930s. At any rate, just on looks alone, I just love the Grumman F3F, and those great Curtiss and Boeing models from the mid-late 20s. |

The Polikarpov Po-2 was manufactured from 1928 until 1953. Combat mount of the Night Witches, still serving as a bomber in the Korean War. Quite a record. |

Another vote for the Hawker Fury, but the Fairey Fox gets my close second! |

Polikarpov I-15, no doubt. |

I like the CR42 for performance, but the stubby USN biplane fighters are cool. Rob |

A tough call as it's such a broad period to judge, so I'll break in down a bit: 1920s – Bristol Bulldog
1930s (early) Fiat CR 32 Falco 1930s (later) three-way tie between Fiat CR 42 Falco, Gloster Gladiator, and the Polikarpov I-153 Leland R. Erickson |

Hawker Hind/Hart, the bomber that was faster than all fighters in service when it was built. This led to the Fury, as they needed a fighter to catch it. |

Westland Wapiti – Fighter and Bomber – great all rounder could operate in some the harshest conditions for an aircraft and but I'm slightly biased as my Grandfather flew them on the NW Frontier (India, Afghanistan etc) between WW1 and WW2

Another vote for the Antonov AN2 – still in routine use today. The Tiger Moth must be up there too. For sheer bloody mindedness, a toss up between the Swordfish & the Shagbat (Walrus) link |
