If the local tournament was considering allowing Imperial Armour book rules, would you be for or against? * please allow Imperial Armour rules * no, don't allow Imperial Armour rules * Imperial what? * I don't play tournaments * I don't play 40K |

Why not? Those $90 USD+ chunks of resin with matching $90 USD oughta see the table at some point. |

I have no preference one way or the other. Imperial Armour rules do not unbalance the game if they ever gain 'Imperial sanction' in tournaments because they tend to be point sinks. You're better off not using them in tournaments actually for this reason, but many won't be able to resist bringing in the Forgeworld models for their 'cool factor.' |

Yeah, stick to the "official" "standard" special characters that plunder their foes with their under-costed values and unforeseen combinations. One of these days I'll get lucky when I pick my army and choose the one that is overpowered. I believe those forgeworld models should be allowed in normal games. oh, "Please allow Imperial Armor rules." |

I see no reason to exclude them. Especially given that price point
.All the books together cost well over $500 USD more than I've spent on all my 40K stuff combined including the codecies. o_o If someone's got that sorta money, I say let 'em. |

The big, expensive toys – super-heavy tanks, flyers, titans, etc – are only "legal" for Apocalypse games, and so won't be turning up in tournaments regardless of whether they're from Forge World or not. Conversely, the non-Apocalypse units, be they new armies like Eldar Corsairs, Tyrant's Legion, Imperial Guard Drop Troops or Siege Regiments, Ork Dreadmobs or Vraksian Renegades or simply new models to add to existing armies like the Necron Tomb Stalker or the Land Raider Achilles, should be allowed, in my opinion. The counter-arguments are that some of these units are "unbalanced" – in which case deal with them on a case-by-case basis, and do the same for unbalanced entries in ordinary Codex books – and that not all players have easy access to the Imperial Armour books to see what they do. I've got a bit more sympathy to that argument, since the IA books cost 45 quid a go, instead of twenty-something. |

I don't see why not with the caveat that the army size, as noted by Andrew, is very likely not be such that the big, big bad boys can be fielded A lot of the smaller (lesser points) stuff should be very fieldable (if that is a word) |

Why not
But then again, I am not a tournament player anymore
