KTravlos, Lars Rossle's site has some excellent info on the Russo-Swedish War of 1788. Link is below: hem.bredband.net/laros6006 For the Poles, you need to see if you can get a booklet that Dan Schorr and I wrote. It should be available from onmilitarymatters.com It's entitled "The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth army in the Wars of Partition" or something like that [haven't looked at it in a while]. If you can't get it, yell. Figures – the only figures I know are in 15mm and are produced by: falconfiguresuk.com I commissioned the 1788 Russo-Swedish range and partly commissioned the 1792 Polish range. The Polish figures are bigger than the Russians [especially the cavalry] but they are the only figures available. There was a Polish manufacturer that produced figures but I haven't heard from them in forever. Finally, if you need info on either of these wars, uniforms, etc. drop me a line at: jestarnes66@gmail.com and I'll be happy to help. As far as rules go, any 7YW or AWI rules would work – I'd use AWI for the Russo-Swedish war in Finland, as the terrain was similar and the armies quite small. 7YW rules would work for the Tyttebaerkrigen [the Norwegian invasion of the Swedish province of Bahuslan] and the Russo-Polish Wars of 1792 and 1794 [the Kosciouszko Rebellion]. Finally, if you join the Scandinavian Wars Yahoo! group, you can see pics of my 1788 Norwegians and Swedes. Also, I think Eric Burgess had some pics of the FFUK Poles on his blog a while back. Can't find the link at present, though – look for 'Din of Battle' as that what he usually posts under. Hope this helps, Eric |

Thanks for all that info! |

You're welcome. Forgot – you can also use 15mm Minifigs Napoleonic Danish grenadiers for Potemkin Russians, though the helmet is bigger than it should be – I use mine for Russian grenadiers. I also uploaded some orbats [if I remember correctly] to the Polish Wars Yahoo! group. I'm the moderator of that group but it's been dormant for a while, as I've been sidetracked by other things [mainly my PhD research] but it might have some info that helps. Eric |

I visited Lars site last night and was so impressed that I've resolved to copy everything to Word and print the entire 1788-90 War narrative into a booklet for my own use and easy reference
that's how impressed I was. The OBs could be a bit better (organized), but they still get the job done
overall, a solid "A" effort there! Eric, if you know Lars or talk to him, please encourage him to do the Russo-Swedish conflict(s) during the early 1800's too! |

Hey Eric! I know how it feels to be sidetracked by a PhD research! |

Andrew, Lars has a side project called Sword and Sabre publishing [or something to that effect] and he's already published one booklet called 'The Last Summer'. Basically, it's an account/narrative of scenarios of the battles of the 1808 Russo-Swedish War in Finland. From what I remember, he also has an entire set of 'Sveriges Krig 1808' which he bought at a yardsale! This set is the most extensive work ever published on the war and is extremely rare. Needless to say, I hate him for having it :). I'm not sure if he's got further booklets planned [though I have seen the cover art for a 1788 booklet]. You might want to contact him and see what he says about future projects. He's a great guy! You can also go to the Scandinavian Wars Yahoo group and download a copy of the 1788-1790 Russo-Swedish War that Dan Schorr posted in the files section. Not sure if this is the same one that Lars has but it was translated by a friend of mine and I forwarded it to Dan and he posted it to the group or failing that, I can send you a copy. It was translated from Swedish and I've cleaned up some of the awkwardness of the language. I also have some more orbats on the war and if you read Russian, I have a few articles on the war in that language as well. Also, you can get a few books on the war, if you're interested, I can recommend a few if you want, though they're in Swedish and Norwegian. KTravlos – I feel your pain! Eric |

Maciek, Are they still in production? I sent them an email a few weeks ago [I live in Poland and I wrote it in Polish] and never received a response. Maybe it got lost in the wilds of cyberspace. I don't know how they would stack up against the FFUK figures and I notice that there are no command or artillery. Would be nice if they expanded the range for those who want to game it but don't live in the States. They're not bad figures per se judging by the photos but they're quite static. Would love to get a few just to see how they stack up against the FFUK figures. Glad to see some interest in this period. I always thought this was the most fascinating, albeit ignored periods of Eighteenth century gaming. Dziekuje bardzo Eric |

I most certainly will. You can also go to the Scandinavian Wars Yahoo group and download a copy of the 1788-1790 Russo-Swedish War that Dan Schorr posted in the files section. I'll go sub directly, but I lived in Germany and took it in college, not much use in Miami, but I can usually hack my way through Danish-Scandinavian accounts, especially OBs and such, so sure, send whatever on (except Russian). I don't think that many people are interested in these periods but after a long hiatus, I'm slowly getting back to painting figures for the period – finishing off a few units and looking at expanding other units. I've also bought a few more books on the both wars, so if anyone is interested, drop me a line at: jestarnes66@gmail.com |

Well, I am interested! ;) Even with all your previous help, I am still a bit confused about the various units and uniforms as well as what is missing in the Falcon range. Am leaning towards the 1788 or the Kosciusko Uprising using Uprising Miniatures. |
