Elmo saw the trailer for this and just about had an orgasm. It looks, from the preview, like it will REALLY raise the bar on using electronics in gaming. First, it is an army builder Second, it has stat cards and rules. Presumably I can tap on "SUPER STRIKE" or whatnot and get the rules without finger ing an entire book. Third, it has data sharing so I can view YOUR army, status, rules, etc. Where are my Cryx and iPad? Second question: is the game still "troop machine" or are the 'jacks relevant again? I haven't played in YEARS. |

I think jacks got a boost. Long time since I played too. Go check out the Colossals That happen in July. Twice the hieght of a jack. thelordofexcess.blogspot.com |

Very nifty! I only recently started playing, and Jacks are pretty tough. (I actually bought the figures back when the game first came out, but only recently found a group to play with.) |

is the game still "troop machine" or are the 'jacks relevant again? I haven't played in YEARS. When Mk2 was released, they really re-powered the Jacks. I think that the guys at Privateer Press realized they needed to do something when one of the battle reports in No Quarter had over 100 minis on the table, and four were Warjacks. Not four per side, four TOTAL. Jacks are more resilient now, infantry have generally been powered-down a little (very few out-of-activation effects anymore). Now, some casters are still troop-casters or 'jack-casters; but the Jack casters work better with some troops to support them, and the troop casters work better with a couple jacks to support their forces. |
