Commercially available? Bluebell homemade vanilla. Handsdown. Used to ship it to friends stationed overseas, overnight, packed in dry ice. Best period? My dad's peach ice cream. Only made with peaches picked that day. Hand cranked. Packed and frozen hard. Get it maybe once a year. Worth the wait.
