OK, so I did a bad thing. A doctoral student came into our local store with a huge collection of Clan Wars miniatures that his wife told him had to get out of the house. Ya'll know how this story ends. I now own a huge collection and to keep my wife from going ballistic I have to sell enough to cover my costs.

I bought them not knowing anything about the game, because the figures are just so well done. They are based historically, but are probably better suited to a fantasy army. I will probably base them up as a "Hordes of the Things", but they would be equally suited to other games like Warhammer Fantasy Battles, maybe even historical games like impetus, if you supplemented with light troops and cavalry from other lines.

Well anyway to the crux of the matter. I have reinstated my supporting membership so will be posting them for sale shortly, but how to sell them (There are about 700 of these guys I've been told). Is there a big enough Clan Wars following that I should try and sell them as components of that game, or should I just make big lots of swordsmen, ronin, archers etc.?

Any help would be appreciated. Of course the hard part now will be deciding what to part with….

I might be interested in the whole lot or what you decide to part with. My group still plays. Any chance you can email some pics of what you have or describe the appearance or color scheme. PM me and Ill give you my email.

Research them and sell them in useable lotts.

I bought some of these guys from a couple of guys at a Con last year and got as pretty good price (fifty cents to a dollar each). I don't know how much they go for on line though.

The down side of selling them in groups is the good stuff will go first and you may get stuck with some things but you stand the chance of making more on them.

If you sell them all at once you could turn it around quick and make a profit and a lot less time in (which equates into money)

I Would be interested in them myself to see what you have. we plan to use the ones I picked up for Warhammer 3rd Ed. as Nippon.

You could also try to sell them on Bartertown.

Good luck

EDIT – I just saw someone above me has also responded at the same time as i did and is interested as well. I have not renewed my membership on TMP yet so is there a way you can semd me your email?

Don't want Bill to give me a hard time, but I'll contact you guys as soon as the supporting membership is reinstated and I list them in the marketplace.

My difficulty is that Valiant enterprises does not apparently have the whole range up on their site, so in many cases the figures I have are unidentifiable unless I try and pull them off the base, but even then it is usually just a code, so unless someone has the key…..

Doc Karl, these are unpainted miniatures, so the color scheme is a nice pewter, aging to a pleasing gold tone in some cases. :)

Thanks all,

I'm starting to piece it all together, but it is such a huge lot of figures making sense of it all will take some time. At least I have figured out that a lot of the figures have the clan affiliation on the slot, L=lion clan, Cn + Crane etc.

Man what an ordeal – but a fun ordeal. Looks like there is a substantial number of Lion and Crab clan figures as well as unaffiliated warriors and Ronin. There is a sampling of unopened specialty blister packs and an absolute buttload of Crane Clan figures. I haven't been brave enough to count them yet, but I suspect the estimate of around 700 is pretty accurate.

Finished the count, after I took enough Crane warriors for a HotT army. That leaves about 630 to sell. I'll detail the lot as soon as Bill comes through with the supporting membership.

Sell all these wives. There's a lot more for free.

Don't know about the other guy, but I'll keep mine thank you. Any woman who has stuck with me for twenty some odd years has to be a keeper. And the best things in life are never free.

Doc Karl,

I can't PM you unless you are a supporting member, but take a look at the listing on the marketplace board I just put up and see if your group, or you personally, might be interested.

Thanks,

David
