Hi all,

Over the last few weeks I have been using Google Sketchup to make 3D models of hex-based wargames. You can pan around and zoom in on the action. Unit counters can be made and imported into the game as additional Sketchup objects ( skp files . These can be moved and stacked as the battle progresses.

Here are a few images. They are based on a famous old game, but the map and the counters are generic.Hope you all like them.

It was fun to do and what's more free.

It looks like a Heroscape terrain generator.

How much time did it take? To me, it isn't free if it takes a lot of time, which is what I lack the most.

Thanks Guys,

The program is quite easy to use. The hexes themselves can be hard to allign properly, but once you have a blank board the time it takes is quite quick. Likewise once a blank counter is made it can be modified and saved.
