Any message from a system that knows your name or user name, that DOES NOT have the actual name or user name is phishing or other type of fraud. Forward it to the security address of the system. I have never gotten a Yahoo message but have gotten messages "Dear Customer" from every bank in the world and PayPal. I forward the latter to spoof@paypal.com and trash the others. Does Yahoo have such an address? |

I saw that a long time ago when I used Dreamhosts as a mail server. It happened every six months or so. Since I moved my email to Google I haven't had an issue. Richard |

Surprise – the link worked on the second try. (Yes, it's a legit link from Yahoo.) |

I have seen the first message before. Basically Yahoogroups was getting bounce back messages. Instead of using the link in the email, log onto yahoogroups directly and check your group settings for the group they mention in the email. It may say it is soft or hard bouncing and just want you to reconfirm the address. |

Yahoo customer service is pretty dismal right now. I believe this is one of the areas they have cut costs. My wife was messing with my phone trying to sign in to her Yahoo Mail. Unfortunately it caused an issue with my account. Yahoo's answer was to terminate my ability to get my email from my phone (I am sure it is a security thing) Long story short is that I have been unable to re-activate (they say you have to reset the account but don't tell you how!) and the Help Desk is almost a month in without giving me instructions on how to do this. Very frustrating! I would jump to Gmail but I have too many things linked to my Yahoo account. It is not a major inconvenience but it does mean I can't check my email when I am out
