Hello,

I'm looking for ships and boats in 1/350 scale to game WW1 Air-Naval scenarios. Apart from some model battleships what else is there available?

Revell (not sure if it is Revell US or Germany) has a 1/350 SMS Emden.

Pacific Front's pre-WW2 1:350 listings:

If you are OK with paper model, there's a free download of a German Imperial Navy V108 torpedo boat model. I think it is 1:350

It's Revell Germany – and I have one. Pretty decent kit, not "state of the art" but can be made into a good model.

Thanks! The paper model is 1:250 but looks great assembled.

What's the best option to convert a WW2 U-Boat into a WW1 model?

Also, were can I find 1:350/1:400 scale buildings?

KC – your best bet for buildings would be the 1/300 stuff sold for microarmour, or any scaleable paper/card models. 1/350 is only really used with ships AFAIK.

How stuck are you on 1/350? You might have more luck with 1/600, with extensive ranges from Skytrex skytrex.com (WWII, but with merchant vessels & terrain suitable for WWI) & PT Dockyard (A dedicated WWI range) ptdockyard.com

Stronghold also used to do a 1/600 range (ex SDD & mostly WWII, again with some vessels suitable for earier periods) but they appear to be OOP. There are also plastic 1/700 terrain items from the likes of Skywaves & Tamiya that are large enough to work with 1/600.

Your only problem is aircraft, I'm not sure if there are any WWI 'planes in 1/600, but are there any in 1/350 either? Shapeways might help in either scale. (edit – Tumbling Dice have some WWI aircraft link )

The WWI submarines were much more primitive (and generally smaller, K Class excepted link ) than the WWII ones. Possibly a WWII Mark II U boat could double up for a WWI example but I haven't ever tried that.

Rod Langton has a small WWI coastal range in 1/200 link & Odizmal Oddy (via Picoarmor picoarmor.com/pages/home.php ) have 1/600 terrain. Irregular have terrain in their 2mm ranges too irregularminiatures.co.uk

Thanks,

I'm building terrain board modules, including a couple for costal operations, for ICOG:

It uses 1:350 planes and vehicles so I thought 1:400 scale ships and 1:300/1:400 buildings would be OK.
