Hello,

I am looking for Cold War scenarios with German Federal Republic Army (Bundeswehr) versus German Democratic Republic Army (Nationale Volksarmee) during the 80s. I want to play them with the Cold War Commander rules and Oddzial Ozmy 3mm miniatures. For unit infos I want to use the army infos from Fire and Fury/Battlefront. The scale: one stand – one platoon.

I would suggest getting hold of GDW's old Combined Arms game. It had an excellent Jutland campaign. It featured a front line German brigade (reinforced I believe) fighting a Soviet division…. for a day or two… then both units disappear (get involved in the fight for Hamburg). After that, it is East German, Poles, and other secondary troops vs German, Danes, some British, and American marines.

Start with T80s vs Leo IIs… End with T55s vs M48s.
What is not to like?!

Great stuff!

I always wondered if the Warsaw pact (in case they are the agressors) would see an issue with pitting NVA versus Bundeswehr forces in a brother against brother scenario. After all, Most east and west germans didn'T view their neighbors as enemies as the olitical leaders wanted them to believe.

One of the things the NVA were supposed to do was to storm Berlin, allegedly. Which kept them well away from the Bundeswehr as Berlin was garrisoned by the British, Americans and French. The Brits in Berlin had Chieftains with a particularly wacky Urban Camo paint job.

The Ossies were viewed as the most highly politically indoctrinated of the WarPac allies, but as you say, not sure what would have happened up against West German forces.

I see the point of a german civil war. So what's with scenarios with west German forces against soviets or east german against US, Uk…forces? Any ideas?

I agree with Joe – the Lanjut campaign found in Combined Arms is ace and features East German v West German, plus lots of other stuff.

One slight correction, however; the Fire & Fury orbats are generally organised as one stand per section/squad rather than one stand per platoon (though admittedly British and Soviet three-tank troops/platoons do work out as one model per platoon).
