Do you collect/paint miniatures and or rules because these are the periods and miniatures you are interested in, or because game/miniatures are what everyone else is playing. |

I play mainly for interest, and suffer the 'magpie' syndrome of 'oh, thats shiny and new
.' ;-) Hence i have a huge lead pile

I collect and paint and put on games for my own interests. I will play outside them, but generally will not "buy in" |

I paint and almost never play, so I can't say that I'm really collecting to keep up with the cool kids. |

For me. Those periods that I want to play, sometimes ones that I want to get others to play |

I've played for the George and Dragon (Bedford) pool team, the Collyer's School ESU debating team, and the Cumann Naomh Abdullah (Dhahran hurling club). And I was captain of the Exeter University Challenge team one year. All the best, John. |

I used to play whatever the game group was interested in at the time, but then I realized I was going for long multi-year stretches of not playing anything I was interested in myself. So I stopped doing that in order to concentrate on my own pet projects. |

John; Massachusetts Maritime Academy RFC, briefly the Newport News Stick Men after that. You can keep hurling. If I have a stick in my hands, I want ice under my feet. And a nice big fat set of goalie pads. Hurling is just crazy talk. Eric |

"Why would I paint stuff according to other peoples desires rather than my own?" Because they might do the same for you? Say a friend want to play WWII naval, and he was a good friend you think about painting an opposing force? |
