Gentlemen; I'm hoping someone out there can help, as I do not have access to a FLGS. Can anyone in the membership tell me how AIP French & Indian War French compare to Accurate's British Infantry, and how both compare to ATKM's metal AWI figures or Irregular? I'm considering joining a friends' AWI project with a French force, to be followed by Hessians/Brunswickers using HaT's new Prussians (as soon as the Command is available). However, I am on a limited budget at the moment (unemployment) and would prefer not to buy sample boxes that I might not use. Also, how are both the AIP and Accurate as far as curled or bent muskets and do they straighten out fairly well? I've had to do this with some 1/72nd so am familiar with the boiling water/cold water cure. Thanks in advance for all replies. A photo comparing AIP, Accurate, ATKM, Irregular or similar would be greatly appreciated. Bill Sir William the Aged |

Sorry, my post was not clear (my bad), I am looking at a 54mm AWI project. As far as I know, PSR only covers 1/72nd scale. Bill Sir William the Aged |

Hey Bill, Have you checked out: link They specialize in 54mm plastics exclusively and are UK based. Note I'm not affiliated with them in any way but I was going to order some stuff from them soon. Cheers… |

Anton70; Appreciate the link. If I decide to buy AIP, I'll be buying direct here in the States, taking advantage of their "Buy 5, Get 3 Free" offer plus flat rate shipping. Plus, they have and show pic's of the "new" French & Indian War (or SYW) French Infantry, which I'll probably use for my AWI French. Technically, wrong uniform for post-Savannah, but hey, they're my toys, right? Bill Sir William the Aged |

Not exactly what you wanted, Bill, but here's a side-by-side comparison of similarly-posed figures of AIP's American Revolution generic infantryman and an Accurate American militia figure. Blue is AIP; grey is Accurate. link link And the American officer on the far right with the spyglass is an AIP artillery officer figure [I think] while all the other figures, to the best of my knowledge, are Ken's ATKM figures. (As are most of the ones in the rest of those photos.) link |

Thanks Andy! Ken actually e-mailed me off-line with a good close-up pic comparing AIP, HaT and ATKM that did the trick. Bill Sir William the Aged |

Yeah, Bill, I checked out Ken's Toy Soldier Wargame Yahoo! group after posting here to see if anyone there had comparison photos and saw that you had joined the group and the replies from Ken et alia about your query. Have fun. |

Thanks Paul! That is a very useful comparison pic. The only range that I was familiar with, other than AIP, were the Barzo FIW figures. And the new HaT figures are a very good match with both Accurate and AIP, so I assume would probably match up well with A Call To Arms British Lights and Grenadiers also? Bill Sir William the Aged |
