Can anyone suggest a paint scheme for the Reaper Chronograph sasquatch? This figure is in the iconic bigfoot movie pose.

raperm30 Dec 2011 7:47 p.m. PST

Scheme? Dark browns, with lighter brown highlights.

The traditional movie of Bigfoot walking away shows a greasy black fur on black skin, black feet, black shadow …

You can see it here:

If you were to choose a shade of gray, some photos are developed giving him a brownish-black look. I think all those are faked, of course.

Brown. Make sure it is the right shade, however; otherwise someone will say you painted it wrong.

Think Chewbacca.

Panzergeil30 Dec 2011 8:43 p.m. PST

Very dark brown or black, with highlights of red, like in this photo:

Have a look a pictures of bears, grizzlys, black bears etc. A dark redish brown might be good.

For mine, I used Vallejo Chocolate Brown as a base, then lightened it gradually using Vallejo Buff via drybrush. Looks quite effective.

I highly suggest field research to ensure authenticity.

Thanks for the suggestions and thanks for the laughs. I intend to do field research tochtli, when does your club meet?

The reported hair samples have been brown, mostly a sort of rusty chocolate iirc.

Films and sightings suggest a rather dark creature, tending to look almost black.

Bears or great apes would probably be good references.

It seems to me that most Bigfoot descriptions match prety well with Gigantopithecus, except that large hominid has been extinct for a few hundred thousand years at least….

The reports of my hirsuteness have preceded me, I see…

Flooglestreet,

Sorry to come in so late*.

I would say something similar to that of a Grizzly. Perhaps dark brown, followed by a lighter brown shade and finally a few golden highlights on shoulders and top of head:

How does that sound?

Or, for the appearance of a little wisdom, you can add a little grey around the beard, eyebrows and chest:

I am very sorry to hear about your injury CC. Best wishes for a speedy recovery and I hope your injury has not ruined your holidays.

Thanks so much. And, whatever color scheme you go for, please share with us the results.

Well, I learned one thing these last few days. When you're basically chained to a chair, you seem to notice a whole lot more of what's going on at parties than if you were trying to entertain guests.

As long as I take my meds, it's actually been a whole lot of fun, except when I try to get up or when some kid (or the dogs) run into my foot.

Maybe a black base with a coat of brown and tan highlights? Whatever you pick, make sure to have him greying a little in the facial area (temples, chin). He is getting on a bit in years … waitaminit … that's me … nevermind.

Grand Duke Natokina01 Jan 2012 2:37 p.m. PST

Various shades of black and gray. I would go very much like a mountain gorilla.

Zamboni31 Jan 2012 2:24 p.m. PST

There's also the skunk ape coloring which looks to have some of the orangutang coloring variations around the face.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. Everybody at Marshall Fields knew my boss was retiring to Florida.
