Apologies if this is in the wrong place.

I'm looking for the most historically accurate wargame scenario for the Battle of the Alamo.

Can anyone make recommendations? Any game rules/system is OK. I'm just looking for historical accuracy relative to the rules it's written for.

Thanks!

If you want I think I can put you in touch with Pete Panzeri who ran the Battle dozens of times around the country. There is another guy if I can remember his name who also ran the scenario at HMMGS conventions over the years and his games as well were always packed.

Much obliged. If you can PM me with a contact email, that would be great.

Many thanks!

My rules were posted on the Texas Revolution yahoo group. Don't know if they are still available.

The group seems to be inactive but still exists.

I use the Hudson and Allen Alamo, modified, and 1:1 scale. I use 250 texians and have 700+ Mexicans. Mexican figures are not removed as casualties but casualty markers are put down. The Mexicans get 600 dead guys, and if they are all used up, the Texians win the game even if the Alamo falls (which it almost always does.

It is a double-blind set up; the Texians deploy while the Mexicans go away and plan their assault.

Every 10 Texians get a D6 to shoot, (every 5 the first turn as they had multiple loaded weapons) plus a D6 for each artilleryman at a gun.

Mexican columns (there are 5) shoot one or two D6s per turn.

Both sides have sharpshooters, and officers (and Mexican standards and musicians) count for morale.

It is big and fast and bloody.

Thanks for the info and link, doc. Much obliged.

I just checked out the Alamo model you mentioned… Hudson and Allen make some incredible stuff! Wow!

Scottz just noticed you are in Philadelphia. I am just south of philly, Delaware County.
Where abouts are you?

If you can't get in the Yahoo group, PM me; I may be able to find the file and send it to you.

H&A Alamo needs some major add-ons and a few revisions to be accurate based on current knowledge. In particular, the front gate had a very strong work just outside it. And the mound with flag a bit inside the gate was actually another work.

My rules will work just fine in smaller scales.

@WarWiz: I PM'd you.
