So far all my Vetrans have just white cloth, but it gets a little boring, what other colors could I use that is not totaly out of the box? |

Try unbleached wool and unbleached linen. Humbrol Paints used to make these colors, but no longer. I can't find the paint chips on line, but try Google for actual fabric examples. |

Hi Gunfreak, The 'med' peoples favoured colourful things (everything was brightly painted, etc.) so any colour of natural dye would be OK: ochres, greens, blues, reds. Libyan tribesmen are pictured in leather cloths dyed red (with madder?) so red might be common. I did mine in red and blue (first 2 pics). But you are right about them getting boring after a while – the third pic is what I had done earlier this year – about 1,500 figs of the 2,200 I had to do. I'm now down to the last 300 or so and they are more than boring!
There are plenty of Punic figure pics (of this rather stupidly oversized collection) here: link James |

Why not mix in some Gallic, Spanish and Italian clothing styles/ colours for some variety? I imagine while on campaign they would always be looking to appropriate gear and supplies from the locals. |

olicana, Thats a beautiful collection and it certainly is not "stupid" or "oversized" -- in fact it is "proper wargaming" in my book. regards Russ Dunaway |

James, Stop showing off your collection. You are making me more and more jealous! Seriously nicely done game! @Gunfreak No uniform required. Use any color you want. I suspect any sort of earthy green or red or any sort of brown color would be "authentic" Brown Color=Beige, Light Brown, Dark Brown etc. The beauty of it all is that we really don't know. Just do what you think looks right. John |

When the Asgard Ancients range came out in the early 1980's I painted the following Carthaginians: link link link link link I liked them so much that I bought the range. Cheers, Tumbleweed – The Viking Forge |

James, I agree with Russ it is NOT stupid to have that many figures! I have over 10,000 painted ancients in my collection and enjoy every minute of using them in our games at my house! Cheers Mike Adams |
