I just received my copies of Miniature Wargames #345 January 2012. Inside is a glossy 20 page, advertisement free, centrefold pull out supplement complete with cover page. This is Ager Proelii, a set of rules for the Punic Wars. Ager Sanguinis, my rules for the early Crusades (which was published by MW some years ago) was a complete sell out, so if you are interrested in this period it might be best to bag a copy early. Buying this magazine for the rules is also a good way to look at the type of rule mechanisms used in Piquet games without having to buy Piquet rules on spec. They are very different and thought provoking; they provide for very tense and exciting games where command and control becomes blurred by Piquet style 'fog of war'. I'll have to try OMM, too, since local shops don't sell Miniature Wargames (or Vae Victis or…). |
