As the title says. Trying to find out details, colouring, etc for Italian troops fighting the Dervishes.
I have illustrations of them wearing white but have also seen them depicted in Grey.
Anyone have info about the grey (when worn, who wore it?).
Or had they gone to kakhi by this time? (given Adua was 2 years later)

According to TVAGs' The Mahdist Wars Source book, the Italian army officially adopted khaki (light bronze) in 1889 for foreign service. There's a whole section on the Italian/mahdist encounters in the books. Hope this helps ?
