I'm going to have some play with some friends totally new to WRG and I'd like to garantue them the best fascinating experience.

I have to build several buildings for a Stalingrad Scenario and some for a West Europe Scenario.

So the repice should be nice painted miniatures, easy rules and GOOD scenery.

I use 28mm WWII Artizan design miniatures over a 3mm LITKO BASES.
I use 5mm Foamcore/Foamboard really strong and easy to cut and paint.

I saw an excellent project here:
link

I have many doubts regarding dimensions of windows/doors and ceiling height.
I already built some building with slightly little variations but I'm not satisfied by the proportions.

Everything must be well proportioned anyway here following my consideration:

- Regarding the access for hands I choosed for one side bombed building instead of removable roof
- Stalingrad building should have higher windows.
- Ceiling should be high enough to allow to hand to pass heasily to move miniatures
- I'll use some "H" and "T" plastic profiles and some balsa wood to simulate iron and wood beam for the floor.

Critics are requested.
I'm not English native speaking so please forgive my language.

That IS NOT MY PROJECT… That is only an advice.
I'd like some suggestion

My advice it to just make it look good. If you try to scale things to realistic dimensions, you will drive yourself crazy!

Miniature scales are not in proportion to them self. If you don;'t beleieve me calculate how many of "you" would fit in a 3m x 3m room. Scale it to miniature scale and see how many actually fit!

My request is exactly how to make them look good and easy to play.
In the link that I posted you can see that not always the miniatures seems proportioned but it's really good looking and easy to play with a lot of space to move easily miniatures.

Would these work?

All of these buildings are mounted on 6" x 6" / 15cm x 15cm bases.

Who makes those buildings Broadsword? Or are they handcrafted so to speak?

Broadsword07 Dec 2011 12:47 p.m. PST

I cobbled them together from 5mm foamcore -> link

Broadsword, nice work. I notice that the base is a different material to the walls; presumably to prevent warping? What did you use on the base, 5mm MDF?

Broadsword08 Dec 2011 1:41 p.m. PST

They were 6" by 6" (15cm x 15cm) hardboard squares, 1/8" thick. Available from: link Used Liquid Nails to glue the walls to the hardboard. When this dries, the walls of the structures help prevent warping when the painting.
