Does anyone use Turrets/emplacements in their gaming? Old Crow has some great looking turrets and lots of options as far as what to use, but is it worth picking up? I just picked up a copy of 5150 and Tomorrow's War but haven't had a chance to go through them yet. Thanks Moe |

TW and 5150 are great games. I made my own Defense turret out of paper, I did use COmbat Wombat's smaller turrents as the mount. |

Thats one thing ill never have to worry about playing Battletech for so long you seem to accumulate loads of defensive fortifications and turrets, the turrets i always seem to game with are probably the cheapest but some of the best for gaming with. Micromachine play sets turrets usually found on E-Bay for pennies, they are made from a semi hard plastic the turrets fully rotate from the mount and best of all the mounts are telescopic great if you play games with height or levels increments.

@AVAMANGO Can you give me some more info on those turrets? Ebay shows nothing when I search "Micro Machine Turrets"
Thanks! |

@AVAMANGO You'll be lucky to get any more of those now. Everybody will want them. I want them!! Can you post a pic with a 15mm fig nect to them? I've made a few defensive emplacements from old screw-off fruit-shoot lids but these are designed as infantry hard spots rather than weapon implacements

Typical this particular Play set is usually found in abundance on E-Bay but as I looking for them I could only find you just the one auction, see below. Next time when you do a search on E-Bay try typing in the Micro machine section play sets, Travel cities or Battle block turrets which are usually about £1 loose or unboxed the one in the auction below is brand new and boxed hence the higher price, as i mentioned in my first post i picked up all my turrets loose without the play set in a auction yeas ago for about a two pound. :) zac auction |

WOW. The ones found on this side of the pond seem a bit pricey: auction Dan |

WOW that is way to expensive, as i said wait awhile these Micromachine town or play sets usually cost no more than $3 USD at most loose or unboxed, just go on E-Bay now and see all the other ones that are currently being auctioned they are all in that price group

SO back to the main question
:) Who uses them in games? Is it something you have and hardly use or just don't see the need. They look great and lots of companies make them but no sense getting if I won't be using them. |

Well, none of the rulesets I own explicitly use them other than ASQL and Dirtside, if that says anything. In my old group we banned their use because they were just too cost effective for their own good in that game (since you didn't have to pay for their mobility or power plant with most weapons). |
