I've been buying loads of the plasstic daleks since they came out free with one of the tabloid newspapers. Even though they are based on the dreadful new paradigm daleks, they are easy to modify and easy to paint, and of course cheap! For £10 I can get five of them, which is way cheaper than the other die cast ones! I can now have civil wars games with 12 daleks a side, and have wrecked ones too. I wanted to avoid using the cybermen from this range coz they looked a bit too plasticy and cartoony, but i needed a whole load of them to do the Torchwood battle, so i had no choice. Has anyone else go into this range for gaming? |

Well I don't know if its a 'type o' or fate but the Character Building Range of Dr Who Miniatures are Great IMO. They are of course pre painted and Lego compatible and size. Our Club recently put a game on at the Warfare show and indeed won the prize for best Participation Game you can see some pics here of the display link |

Played the game at Warfare and it was great fun. Don't forget that they do packs of stone angels as well. |

Really nice stuff! I didn't think mixing painted scenery and Logo/Character bricks would work well, but this games looks very cool! Very impressive. I have been debating gaming with Lego kits for years. (not that I have any issue with it, I just would have to start from scratch.) I had not seen the "military" Character figures before. These are very nice. Great pics. |

I think the military figures are from another character building licence for the UK armed forces. I also saw the game at Warfare, it looked awesome!!! |

Why do I feel a Lego terrain building spasm coming on? |

Sorry guys I've been unable to get near a PC for few days, and i hate to abandon my post(s). I love the lego city! If I hadn't spent loads of cash at SELWG on interior bits and bobs it would be worth getting some lego. I have cardboard floors and corridors with very nifty looking contol panels and so forth. I'm not going to repaint my cybermen (apart form picking a Leader figure and giving him black head pipes), but I've had to re-do the Daleks as I find them too plastic looking. I want those big handguns that the cybermen have! |

How tall are these Daleks? |
| Space Aardvark | 12 Dec 2011 4:41 a.m. PST |
About 4.5 cenitmeters, though with a a GW base they can get a bit bigger. |

Just bought and re-painted two packs worth of these Daleks. What am I doing?!??! I already have about 35-odd of the old GW 25mm Daleks painted up! Have I forgotten how passionately I hate painting all those hemispheres!?
I'm sure I have some Lego for scenery around the place

painting the hemispheres is what is putting me off starting on the load of cover mount Daleks i have to do. One day

How do these daleks compare to the old plastic ones from GW? I've got a box of the old ones but it would be nice to get some more if they don't match up to badly. |

Stewbags, I use a silver or gold Xmas style metalic marker for my Hemispheres, its way faster (if not hugley accurate). Venusboys3, they are much bigger than the old GW ones, about 4.5 centimeters tall. Unpainted they are very plastic looking, but with a basic paint job can look pretty good. |

Irrational Number Line Games did an article on these a couple of months ago. Check it out for pics of repaints, a couple of alternate builds, and comparison to some other figures. There are a couple other figure articles on this archive page, so you may need to wait for the images to load, then scroll down to the waaaaay bottom, where the CB Dalek article is. |

Those setups look great. Where are the computer terminals/operating table from? What did you use for the Dalek claw? Can anyone point to a sc-fi furniture line or easy step by step instructions for making consoles. |
