Hello

Just wanted to share with you my last freak project about creating a set for Dogsled racing in the artic.

I took the idea from Buck Surdu with his Dogsled Gaslight. You can see the original post here: TMP link

I modified the rules to create a more generic set instead using GASLIGHT base rules which I don't have it. Also the minis are in 15mm instead of 28mm. I created some rules and custom cards for players to generate randomness and troubles to other racers.

Miniatures are from different ranges: MY Figures, MJ Figures and Khurassan. The Walruss is Scratchbuild.

So here you can see the full set:

The perils: Inuits, Penguins, Walrus, Polar Bears, Polar Wolves…. and the other racers. ;)

You could switch to Antarctica and include some random Lovecraftian race course hazards!

Wow, those look great!

Love the nice, fresh snow on the minis look, and the measurement device and printed cards.

Sounds like a fun idea.

So, I guess we can assume the natives are not very friendly.

Very nice looking game. I appreciate all the creativity it took to conceive of the event, and to work out all the ingredients to make it a successful endeavor. Mush!

Today I played one full race with surprising results as 2 of the 3 sleds were crashed due to a collision at mid race and the racers had to finish running the race. No chance to win against an sled!

Bravo! That is great. I wanted to attempt this in 28mm..now i may rethink.

Who does the sleds?

crusher10009 Dec 2011 5:13 a.m. PST

I have made a specific ruleset for racing with this dogsleds. If you want I can share it with you.

About dogsleds mine are 15mm from MY Miniatures from their Inuit range. I recommend to do it in 15mm because for about 30Eur can have everything for 6 players including penguins, polar bears, inuits, racers, wolves and the baggage to put on top of the sleds.

Components are from 3 different manufacturers: MJ figure, MY figures and Khurasan.

Looks great, good idea for the time of year. Have the penguins flown north for the winter?
