I'm thinking about getting an e-reader or tablet and was checking free ebooks. On Project Gutenberg, 'Little Wars' is the most downloaded H.G. Wells title by over 1000 downloads or more than 18% if you like. Just thought that was kind of neat.

In the long term, perhaps HG Wells will be seen as the founder of the miniature wargaming hobby, who also wrote novels!

One could argue that 'Little Wars' has had a greater long term influence on behaviour today – albeit that of a minority engaged in an esoteric hobby – than have most of his novels, with the possible exception of 'War of the Worlds' which spawned several films and an Orson Welles' radio adaptation that caused panic in the USA.

H.G.Wells wrote novels too?
