Hi there,

With new Warlord plastic Russian infantry recently released, and a Perry plaster release pending, who makes the best (in your opinion) Russian cavalry to complement them?

thanks in advance

I am using the Front Rank Russian cavalry with the Warlord infantry. They are a bit chunkier but it is a nice range.

The Victrix Russians are superb (and I'm not a huge fan of their plastics.) I would have a look to see if they are going to support that range with cavalry soon.

Foundry and Front Rank in my collection, and when you get around to the cossacks, take a look at the Foundry 18th century line. Great for some irregular variety.
Incidentally, I think Front Rank is the only company that does the VERY attractive Guard Cossacks. Red jackets in that sea of green.

I felt Alan Perry's sculpting for Wargames Foundry provided the best figures for later Russian cavalry, but you know you own taste's best, and what level of painting you want to achieve.

I love the Front Rank Russian Cuirassiers. For Cossacks try the Eureka revolutionary wars ones. Lovely figures, and how much could a Cossacks 'Uniform' have changed in 18 odd years?

Be nice to see some plastic hussars though….

Thanks for the suggestions. The Victrix cavalry looks nice, but I see that they only have cuirassiers at the moment. I'll probably get some of the Eureka Cossacks, and then look at either Front Rank or Foundry for the rest of the cavalry.

Cheers
