Am I the only one who's feeling a bit frustrated waiting, what seems an age, for Gripping Beast to restock their SAGA Dice. I check their website and the SAGA Forum regularly for news, but to no avail. Anyone out there know what's happening. |

Why even use them? The rules allow the cute images on the dice to be represented by numbers on a D6. I may be cranky, but the "special dice" thing seems like a ripoff. |

I'm happy with the symbol dice but not at that price: I've made my own with the stickers available on the Studio Tomahawk forum. So the supply issue isn't a problem for me. |

SW SAGA uses d20s for the most part. You should be able to get them anywhere.

The dice are for the Dark Ages miniatures game called Saga. It uses dice and a "battle board". you roll dice each turn and what comes up on each die determines what actions you can take. |

Rumour is they will be sent out very soon to those who bought the rules and dice sets. That's all I asked about, but I assume they will also have stock to take dice orders. |

I'm thinking about making my own buy burning the symbols on to blank wooden dice. Luckily I'm doing Vikings so that will be easy with the runes. Now I just need to find somewhere I can get the blank dice where shipping doesnt cost more than the dice. |

Why can't some other dice manufacturer make "Dark Age Dice" Surely there is no copyright on a die face with a helmet? Says Elmo who is waiting to get some dice. First company to offer can get my money. |

lots of rune's on ebay eg auction we found that when u place the dice on the chart they tend to ''move'' around
its led to arguments about what attribute was actually bought
we wondered it would have been easier for gamers to roll their dice and purchase cards instead of placing the dice on a chart . the game has proved very popular at our club
the table is now full of long unused 28mm dark ages figures .. !!! has anyone converted the rules for lord of the ring ? |

Not sure if this counts but I played three games of SAGA this weekend using LotR figures. Cheers, VB |

Just bought the rulebook and the Skraeling warband, good job I don't need any particular dice as they are still out of stock and as rare as hens teeth! |

You can just use normal D6, they state what each number means in terms of the symbols in the rule book. So if you like the funky dice then buy them. Otherwise crack on with normal ones. There are also all sorts of alternate lists on the SAGA forum. |

Miniatures is a visual hobby so I like the "dice" adds flavor to the whole thing. Cost, get over it, they are special dice and of course they are more expensive because less money is to be made in the long run from them. Gaming companies need to make a buck just like you do. I swear some people need to get out more often and see what real world prices are like
heck save money don't paint your mini's! I like and play with miniatures because I feel more immersed in the game that what one might feel playing a board game of the same period, its 3 dimensional, I like casualty figures too, I run games with lots of visual appeal and if you showed up at my place with an unpainted army or the wrong dice you be out! |

Blank dice with indents on the sides cost £2.50 GBP for 8 dice. Download and print the symbols from the Saga forum. Stick them on the dice. Varnish to protect. Done. So if you don't like the cost of the dice, make your own. It only takes a few minutes. |
