King Kong
Legend(both versions)
Desperado

Maddaz11116 Nov 2011 5:23 a.m. PST

I quite like Band of Brothers (I know it is not a movie, but the score is cinematic!)

LOTR,
True Romance, (Your so Cool)
Gladiator (Now we are Free)
Conquest of Paradise
Blade Runner (opening titles, end titles, love theme)
Top Gun (top gun theme)
2001, Barry Lyndon & Excalibur classic music re-purposed is always good

Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Reservoir dogs, Matrix, Fifth Element.

Star Wars, (Imperial March, Leia theme, Opening titles, End titles, Duel of the Fates, Vaders Rise, etc)
20th century fox fanfare…

Aliens, Alien,

Harry Potter.

Star Trek – The (slow) Motion Picture ( Klingon Battle, End Titles)

Plus about 20 other Score Albums on CD. plus some combined scores by people like Charles Dutoit and the Cincinnati pops orchestra (mission impossible, etc )

Of course – I have about 500 classical albums as well, including multiples of some famous ones, its amazing to hear the different interpretations that a conductor can impose on an orchestra, Karajan v Rattle for example.

skippy000116 Nov 2011 8:10 a.m. PST

RavenscraftCybernetics-'The Story of O'? Read the book in high school and saw the film(which has warped me mightily!). In between the whips and screams I don't remember the music…

A great list, thanks for responding everybody.

I do notice when gaming that my die rolling improves when the music is in sync with the action.

Safety check: Do not 'conduct' the orchestra with a measuring stick during gaming.

The Best of Godzilla 1954-1975
Chicago
Conan
Paint Your Wagon
Tank Girl

Honourable Mention cause it's a stage soundtrack not a movie: Cyrano (Christopher Plummer)

Do those of you who listed Patton seriously just listen to the soundtrack?!? Granted they're really good themes -- but still -- for a 3 hour movie it only had 3 themes!!! It's a bit mind numbing after awhile. For the budget that movie had, you'd think they could have paid the composer to come up with a few more really good themes. huh?

Pretty much all the Good ones have been mentioned. But I rarely listen to theme music when gaming. I might hum a bit, or even indulge in harmonizing along with Men of Harlech, but that's about it.

Unless I am playing the Soul Patrol in one of Howard's games at Historicon. Then I bust out the funk on my iPod. Gotta have some theme music.

A lot of really great choices here and many are in my favorites. I'd also toss in The Last Temptation of Christ. I never saw the movie, but the soundtrack is amazing (by Peter Gabriel).
