Am thinking of wargaming a riot scenario based around the 1840s time period and utilising both Empress Miniatures' Europeans from the Maori range, and Perry Miniatures ACW rioters. What sort of rules exist to cover this situation? Ideally, the rules should have a non-violent but provocative stage, and a violent stage involving firearms, knives, swords, etc. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. link link D'Ewell |

Gosh I wish I could remember the rules we used for the huge game we play of the Paris riots at Hcon many years ago. They were skirmish rules and maybe someone remembers what they were. VR James Mattes |

Actually, "B'hoys!" is the only specifically written rules set for Asbury's the "Gangs of New York," which is to say primarily for the 1840'-50's. The New York Draft Riots of 1863 may indeed be played with the rules, though far more firearms and even artillery are involved there. "B'hoys Towne" is a set of card stock building fronts, sidewalks, streets, etc, for creating the necessary environment. But of the greatest artistry are Bobby Jackson's purpose built line of "B'hoys!" figures for the various gangs of antebellum New York, complete with Police figures in early and late uniforms. All my be viewed at link and you may follow the various links to the entire related line of goodies. Take a look here--I don't think you'll be disappointed! TVAG |

Betcha bygolly wow! Disappointed? I am not. Many thanks guys, as I gear towards some 'special' purchases. I need to read through them but I guess there is no such thing as a skirmish in wargame rules, using a handful of individual figures. As aye, D'Ewell |
