Not sure how one would notice. There certainly haven't been any new jokes since the first month of publication.

But yes, it certainly has not been changed. Lots of explanation to the reasons but indeed "Larry" has been on hiatus for awhile now. We are not sure about when it will emerge from hibernation but will give notice.

In the meantime, the books are still available and, if Jay Arnold is to believed, are cartoons from our 'better days' early in Larry's career and so which some of you may have missed.
The store at the website is still active.

Why not by-pass it as you would something else that you do not like or does not interest you? Why waste the time on our silliness? But there you are on threads putting your negative comment for the world to see. Perhaps you are a closet "Larry" lover? <grin> Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I kinda like Larry, even though he wears a yankee kepi, and well…the "dave dave dave, why do you always attract the crazy ones?" was if I am correct, originally based on me!!!!

Ok – Auld Minis ter I understand what you're saying about Flintloque's contributions….but having all those quotes ready to hand….that's a little bit creepy…like you're keeping a dossier on what every TMPer says….

I also often make disparaging remarks about the unfunniness of Larry when threads about him crop up.

But this time I shall refrain, lest the creepy stalker come after me too.

I have always enjoyed Larry but being Canadian some of the jokes may be funnier to me.

Still check every once in a while for something new but as I am not paying for it it's not really an issue that I am not getting anything either.

It'd be a nice marketing idea.

Works for me. But then I like comics.

I would pick up a set if they had minis for all the LL characters. I would use them in my Zombies vs Gamers ATZ game.

You'll note I didn't state or even imply that the earlier cartoons are "better." That inference is your own. As for still selling books, good on ya. I fully support the entrepreneurial spirit.

I wish you continued success. Bill Keane used the same five jokes for 60 years (not me, ghosts watching kids, Billy's path through the neighborhood, kids say the darndest things and Billy draws the comic). Bill Shakespeare used the same two story templates and no one complained (comedy = funeral at the beginning, wedding at the end, tragedy = wedding at the beginning, funeral at the end). Bill Murray has essentially played the same character in movies for the past 30 years. No reason why you can't. Wait. Better change your name to Bill, just to be sure.

LL certainly seems to think it's more amusing than it really is.

Never liked it as it is painfully unfunny, but it's drawn well.

I have no idea, nor do I care, if I have said anything like that before (and I probably have). 8)=

I used to like them, but stopped trying to see if there was any new ones, so I stopped even looking.

Like all cartoons was / is hit and miss – by the wargamers pie chart is still a classic.

I like him ….but then again I actually Laugh out Loud at most comics. I just wear my smile on my sleeve.

Sheesh, you all are a tough crowd. OK, it's not exactly Doonesbury, but given it is pretty topical for a minor and obscure hobby, one would think you could cut the artist some slack.

I hope Larry isn't finished. Despite the whiny group of naysayers, it's a good comic.

SultanSevy, this is TMP you're talking about…. :) Perhaps there should be a TMP cartoon. Great fodder here…

Hope he resurrects!

I like the cartoon. It is usually amusing and I have never found it offensive. More than I can say for a surprising number of the sites some members link to.

Cartoon was great and remember compared to all the other "Wargaming" cartoons out there it was definitely the best! I love how many of the Nay sayers complain about the efforts of others of others on their or the communitys behalf while they themselves contribute nothing. That kind of stuff takes time and a great deal of effort and there is I'm sure little in the way of reward for the effort.

I think Larry and his fellow gamers should age. Their hair ought to be white, or missing, by now. They should all have bifocals and be unable to read the rules without holding them up to their noses.

Hey,what was the name of that strip that used to appear in Military Modeling--Modeling Mike,or something? I still remember some of the jokes:

I rather enjoyed it. Funny without the cloying, ever-pervasive "irony" and sarcasm that seems to be poisoning internet humour.

Sadly, I've come to the party late. I just had the urge to check out Larry and just found that he is gone… Gone but not fogotten..
